Hogan has developed a small sore on the end of his nose, just up from where the skin meets the nose.

Here's a pic.

It's got gradually worse, now it's red and sore like the picture.

He doesn't mind me touching it, and it doesn't seem to be itchy.

Thanks

Does he try to nuzzle out of his crate or something? Other than that I'm not to sure, but when we trap groundhogs in cage traps they rub their noses like that kinda....but it could be something completely different?

It does look like he may have rubbed his nose on something or maybe a scratch when he was out playing. Doesn't look like a bite. I would watch it and if it doesn't seem to be healing take him to the vet. Kind of a difficult place to use any medicine on because he can lick it off, so I would also just leave it alone and not put anything on it.

Also when it heals it may be lighter color than the rest of his nose.  Don't worry the pigment will take a while to come back, but it will come back.  Halo scratched her nose during the time when I was showing her and she had a light area where the scratch had been.  I used a little eyebrow pencil to darken it up so it didn't stand out.  I know your not supposed to do that and the judges also aren't supposed to ding the dog for scars or scratches, but it just stood out so much to me and detracted from her face (that is all you saw when you firsted looked at her) and it was so easy to just run an eyebrow pencil over it and it just disappeared, at least for a little while.

Also does he like to dig? My buddies lab messes up his nose when he uses it to help him dig, it looks just like Hogan's scratch
