| Looks like he has a good start on those hunting skills. How old is he? He is adorable. Love the black and white. |

9 weeks =) Picked him up Saturday, 4 hour drive each way to western Pa. Long day but had a really nice visit with the breeder, brought my other dog ( also from the same breeder) put them all on the ground did some fetching running etc.. He's a willful little guy. He had an epic battle with the leash and collar last night, allot of personality came through in that short time. He's gonna be a tough cookie don't let that cute face fool ya |

Great looking pup!
Why are there so many GSP breeders in PA??? It seems really disproportionate. We got JB at dustyw in the poconos, NE PA... but I remember when we were looking, almost all of the breeders we looked at were in that area. |

He is a cutie! I hope you take him hunting at Green ranch - haven't been there but it looks great and the prices are pretty good, too. Please, please hunt and test him in the VDD system. It's a great system and you will end up with a great all around companion. Best of luck, Francine |

I thought he looked fuzzier than the other pups people have posted but my two are my first GSP so I wasn't sure if it was different or justt he picture and the way it was taken...he is cute no matter!

Francine I'm very impressed with the VDD system. I will absolutely test and train him in that system. I enjoy the NAVHDA methods but I see the VDD as more of a parent organization. When you look at the two NAVHDA is more " user friendly " that statement makes sense to me. VDD is a little more intense as you know. I was a little disappointed in the area there are miles and miles of corn fields everywhere and no wild birds Though in talking to the breeder Pheasants Forever is working up there with a couple of the local farmers so hopefully they will get the population up! It's God's country the place screams HUNT ME so it's really a shame there are no birds. I can't imagine having 100 + acres and no birds. In any event I plan on spending a ton of time out there with the new guy. I may even start training my shorthair in that system, even if I can't test him. I'm that impressed with it. Thank you all for the kind words |

Yep, I hear ya. the VDD testing system is tougher b/c it's a breeding system. Have faith tho - I put 2 dogs thru it and did fine - if I can do it with my beasts anyone can do it. A wild population of pheasants in PA? Not likely, but I'll keep my fingers crossed. It would take a hugh effort. Have fun with him - in the end all you have are the memories. |

| Francine, the Pheasants Forever program has made great strides to reintroduce the pheasant back into the wild here in PA. It is an awesome sound to hear the pheasants cackling again here in our neck of the woods! Can't wait until they reopen pheasant season here. |

If they have been reproducing this is good news. The population must be stable if they are allowing the season to open. NY isn't so lucky. |
