Great shot! Love the composition, action, and focus. The selected calendar montly pictures are on facebook under "GSPCA Gala Calendar" or something like that, but it doesn't show the little ones thorughout the calendar -- I had a photo make it this year again (January '11), so I'm three for three in the three years it has been done (Jan '09, Mar '10, Jan '11 -- I guess Colorado lends itself to winter months . . .) -- was told they only allow one big picture per photographer. I did get a notice that the "Joy Kicking Snow" picture was selected, so if you made it you should have gotten an note from Maxine -- one key for the calendar is having adequate pixel density (e.g. 350dpi or >) and meeting the sizing and other requirements since it is a high quality printing -- I know Maxine indicates some can't be used because they are 150dpi or some other reason. As a result some great pictures do not get used as one of the bigger monthly pictures for this reason only, not saying it is the case with Bev's photo, but something to consider. The picture under discussion is great, I REALLY like it! Dave

Thanks Dave! Your pics in the calendar are always spectacular! Max's Dad is the August 'pin-up' in the calendar this yr. His half sis Kia was the cover girl last year. Bev- I still think Halo's shot would have made a gorgeous summer month. It is just beautiful! Here is the link to the calendar pics. They aren't in order. Dave's is January. Wonderful shot. Beautiful dogs.

It made it to the final cut, do not know why it wasn't selected. It was taken in High Res with a D70 Nikon so pixelation should not have been a problem. Guess someone else didn't like it as much as you and I did Jen. ; ) If anyone else wants to see the picture we are talking about it is on the home page of my website or in my signature line below (tiny version). It is the picture with Halo holding the red bumper and standing in the lake. It is one of my favs and is framed and in my house. I took it when the dogs were having fun at the lake.
