As many of you may remember, our almost 14 year old German Shorthair,  Kaiser, passed away peacefully in his sleep. This leaves us with Gator, who is 3 years old. Gator seems happy being an only dog, but my husband and I have been going back and forth on whether or not we should get another dog.

I always check Petfinder anyways. There are lots of male dogs/puppies available nearby, but usually no females. A couple of weeks ago, we saw a female  in Huron, SD - about 5-6 hrs from us. Now I have found 4 puppies, (2 male, 2 female) born in late March, in a shelter in Canton, MN, on the border of MN/IA which is a 2 - 2 1/2 hr from us. I have left a message, and awaiting a return call to hear more. Specifically looking for female, there are 2, Sara & Sissy.

I'm off tomorrow, and go back to work Friday pm, and have to work this weekend, so wouldn't be able to go see the puppies till sometime next week? '

So time will tell if we will be a 2 dog family again.

GSP's are like chocolates, once you have one you need to have more! Good luck getting another gorgeous puppy :)

I personally think that two is much better than one!

I agree, two is easier than one. Good luck in your search.

I definitely like having the 2 dogs...I can't keep up with Blitz and his energy so he needs a buddy!
