Hmm ... wish I could help. All I could say is that we made sure the cats had their own space and could get to their litter without having to encounter the dog. Our bedroom was always the cats room, so the cats continued to sleep with us while the dogs sleep in their crates.
We had a spiteful pee-er as well ... so I feel your pain...

Ya its not a pretty smell thats for sure... but we have always kept the cat in the basement because we didnt want them to fight, but maybe should i take the cat out of the basement tand let them get over their differences on their own? let mother nature take her course? I would love to be able to have the cat and dog running around the house at the same time. Thanks

You need to supervise if you let the cat and dog out together. GSPs can be cat sharp and even if he doesn't intend to hurt the cat, GSPs play hard and he may accidentally hurt the cat. Let them be together where you can watch and correct your pup when he gets overbearing with the cat. Eventually the cat will loose his fascination for your pup and they will probably co-exist just fine. You also need to let your pup know that the cat is yours and you love it too. Good luck!

Questions are good. It is nice to see someone young and in love with GSPs (actually just dogs in general). Keep up the good work.
