After the 11 hour round trip to Judy Zeigler's "Crystal Kennel's" in Montour Falls, NY on Friday; we have our newest addition here at Almost Heaven Kennels, Crystal's Blue Winged Teal aka "Rip", call named after his Daddy. His Dam is Judy's "Abbey", Ch. R-Desire's Under The Gun SH, NRD, NA II and his Sire is Brenda Roe's(Walnut Hills) "Rip", 10 X NSTRA Ch. Snip's Ticked Off SH. The young fella has settled right in and acts like he runs the joint, sleeping on the bed, making up sweet to the gals, locating and laying stake to the Quail, Chukar and Pigeon pens/coops. My 5 year old Dalin is kinda confused about how this 8 week old pup is his 1/2 Uncle though!

7 Week Old Stack:

First Points on Birds at 6 Weeks Old:

Young Rips Pedigree

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Judy and Andy for entrusting me with one of these pups and Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Brenda for allowing the use of Rip's frozen to produce this litter! I'm really looking forward to what I suspect will be great things from this young man!

Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.

What a nice puppy, Bruce! I was going to ask Judy where the boys were going for future..... I'd love to breed back to a Rip puppy since my line goes back to his litter sister, Scarlett. Please keep me posted on his progress. Good luck with him!!

TY Mel, Gail and Phyllis!
I have high hopes for him Gail, so hopefully we'll have Brags as he grows up!
Great names Phyllis! Minus small differences, he is a virtual Carbon Copy of Rip!

Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.

Nicely put together pup! I just LOVE those great points out of babies that are still fat and have way too much skin . Love to see that aptitude at an early age.

Bruce,

I never met Rip but have certainly heard lots about him from my friends did know him and see him. Neat to hear Brenda say that your Rip is so much like his daddy!

I saw your lil Rip at 4 and 6 weeks and he was one of my faves! Sweetest boy. Have fun with him. I am glad Judy still has 2 so I can enjoy the puppies when I go for my lessons!

Congratulations on the pup! He looks like a nice boy. Can't wait to hear about his exploits both in the field and at home.

TY all :-) I feel very fortunate to have Rip in my home!

Gail,
Having only got to meet Rip as a 15 year old, I can say that he was still very much a "pup" and still had an enormous desire to play fetch, even at that age and had a wonderful personality and disposition that I so highly value in any dog. While I didn't personally get to see him hunt, I think from what I've seen of his get and Grand-get and from what I know of the pups he produced from those that have known him and them, this pups going to be a lot of fun! Add to that blend what the beautiful Abbey brought to the table on her own merits of excellence, as well as the merits of her Sire and Dam and I just can not express how excited I am to have Rip, or how excited I was to learn that Judy would be placing Rip with me!

I absolutely LOVE my Dalin and only wish I could go directly back to his Sire Logan(a Rip son) for a female pup as well.

Jen,
You're in excellent company with Judy and Andy! This was an absolutely beautiful litter and one that I could have put all the pups in a big box, reached in blindly and known I was pulling out 1 VERY nice pup! Rip however, quickly stole the show for me LOL!

Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.

Bruce- Yes I love training with Judy. I ended up with a Josh pup from a breeding out of PA. After that I realized how close they are to me (35 mins). So, it is great to be able to see the half-siblings and dad. I started private lessons a month or so ago and so enjoyed those little babies. Will be nice to watch Judy's grow! Our 'kids' are pretty closely related!
