Pointer Fan, I think that aquariums have an indirect relaxing factor on Pointers as it relaxes their Humans so a relaxed Human in the room filters relaxation to the Pointer....  Here is a side view of my baby plecostemos so you can see how majestically archaic they appear!!!!

I've often thought that people who are poor housekeepers might be reincarnated as plecostemi. I live in fear. They are prehistoric looking. The neatest fish we had was an elephant nose. Quick question---did you neighbor leave the pleco in the pond in the winter?

The first 2 years of her pond in the winter she had a heater in it to keep the fish( coi shabunkins and comets) water from freezing and she brought her plecostemos inside and kept them in a small cow tank in the basement with a filter running. Of course she ran a higher electric bill with heating the pond. So the 3rd year she bought a 125 gallon fish tank for her living room and brought all the pond fish in along with the plecostemos. So after a few years of laboring transferring the fish from pond to Aquarium she gave all her fish away. She still enjoys her pond with water plants, frogs and all, but no fish.... I always had off and on in my life a 10 gallon aquarium, but 5 years ago i made the decision to move all my fish from a 10 gallon aquarium to a 55 gallon one for our living room. Both my Husband and I absolutely love this aquarium. We got the 55 gallon aquarium in the summer and adopted Rocky that winter. Rocky's foster Mother commented to me during our house inspection "I am not sure how Rocky will react around the fish aquarium." Rocky has been great and even helps me when I am cleaning the tank, filters ect.

Look at the crazy pattern on this plecostemos close up. Almost can lose your eyes in it as you can on a heavy liver ticked GSP
