What are they going for when they dig in the snow like that? We had Bo out in the forest yesterday and he would be running along, stop and start digging like crazy. Would he be going after rabbits or other small rodents? Maybe buried deer tracks (or other small mammals)? I thought they wouldn't be interested in anything other than birds ... shows you what I know |

Moka caught 2 mice last week digging under the snow! It's amazing to me that she can hear or smell them under 3 feet of snow.... Gail |

| It definitely looks like a mouse hunt that Rocky is on. You know---pointers really do have cute butts. I was thinking about that yesterday when they were showing the Westminster dog show. They were parading the poodles and there really is nothing uglier than a shaved dog butt. Pointer butts on the other hand especially when they are wiggling are just cute as all get out. |

| I agree, it must be a mouse. Mocha and Belle have been having a hay day catching them from under the snow. Abbey found one last night and I LMAO! She didn't know what it was but she chased it and pounced on it and ran all around following it and stomping it. The mouse stood up at her like "You want to mess with me?!" bravery but very stupid. I let Belle out to do the dirty work. Atleast they don't eat them. Belle will toss them in the air over and over. They sure are silly! |

No this is what we do with our real Xmas Tree after Xmas season. Put it inside our wood fenced in yard and the birdies house in the tree on sub zero days providing the birds much protection. And can you believe? This tree will still be green in the spring when I set it out for spring city pick-up!! |

Bonus too for Mr. Rocky as he has added birdies in his backyard to practice his high prey birdie drive. Makes his yard alot more interesting |

| Love the picture of the little birds on the fence and Rocky checking them out. Almost like some more Christmas presents for him. I used to nail the turkey carcas on the fence for the magpies but I have not seen a magpie around her for several years. |

Wow, that's an excellent idea for the Christmas tree.
I now have serveral feeders outside the kitchen window with a lot of gold finches, purple finches, juncos, and the occasional white crowned sparrow showing up. Dulcie can be a PILL about it though, insisting that she should be able to prop herself with her front feet on our lap as we're sitting at the table. She *acts* like she's all lovey-dovey at first, wiggling her tail and rolling those big brown hound-eyes and rubbing against a shin as she sidles up and puts the first paw up.... but she quickly becomes completely oblivious to everything- even a human yelling "GET OFF!!!" in her ear- while staring at the 'cheep birds'.
She is PURE.WEASEL. |

Welcome Jodi! Nice pic. Would you post a pic of your dog. The avatar is nice and your GSP looks gorgeous. I would like to see a bigger picture. So shiny liver I love it.

I love the snow pictures! I think my Jackson is a true Floridian though....he loves to be under the covers when it gets chilly or when he is laying around the house! One day maybe I will be ableto get him up north and see how he does! Thanks for the welcome message |
