So about a week ago I joined a new dog park near my house, 60 bucks a year but its really nice with several fenced areas all atleast an acre or 2 big, nice agility course, doggy pool, and an unfenced pond for dogs that are good with recall.

Anyway, Ive been taking Dax over there and he's been really loving it. Tonight he was wrestling with a border collie and rolled over backwards onto his hind leg. He immediatly yelped/cried for about 5 seconds or so, and wouldnt put any weight on his leg. He flopped over and just layed there looking at me. I thought I was gonna need to take him to the vet. By the time I calmly walked over, he stood up, limped about 3 steps, and then went right into a normal walk, and from a walk to a trot, and then immediatly into a run and began playing again. I calmed him down for a few minutes and checked him out and he seemed to be in no pain, and wanted to just play. I let him go and he played fine for another hour, and seemed fine since. It gave me a scare, but Im pretty sure that he's fine as he has played for the rest of the evening and wants to keep going. Will he be sore/stiff tomorrow? Should I walk him tonight? and then again in the morning to loosen up his leg if its sore?

Sounds like Dax is not hurt as he did not limp while enjoying normal play the rest of the night. It is good to stretch and warm up any dogs muscles before high, energy twisting, leaping play time. Gentle stretches followed by a leash walk in the morning.I also do gentle massage on the back hips and legs and front shoulders of Rocky if I think he is sore any where.

I suspect he just tweaked a muscle and it scared him. Just watch him in the morning and if he limps make him take it easy. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.
