| A little while ago Adie and I were at a local store and were stopped by someone asking about the little missie. He wanted to know where I got my GSP from. After he heard her breeder he immediatly began asking if I had plans to breed her! (which I didn't) He was rather adamant that I should breed her. I just felt a little....well violated... I guess. That is my baby girl! |

Today is the 4th of July and an other day at work...But tomorrow Adelaide is 5 months! She is growing so quickly. She was at the vet the other day and weighs 34lbs. While we were there we set up her "Big" appointment to have her mommy parts delt with. I feel kinda sad. On a good note we have started force fetching and she is doing very well. We have had 3 VERY short sessions and she will grab the bumper with only verbal prompting! |

The other day Miss Adelaide, my son (Daylan), and I had a day of trap shooting and fishing. The little one was very well behaved while fishing. She really wanted to chase the lures as we were casting. I think it was that whole "you just threw something and I should swim out to get it...right?" She did have fun stalking butterfly's and swimming.

Well tomorrow little Adie will be going to the vet to meet with the knife. She has been quite the little terror the past few days. The final straw was yesterday when she destroyed the entrydoor rug! (we had to leave her out while Mrs. R and I did baby registry stuff b/c Adie destroyed her kennel the eveniing before--long story--) So i thought that it was a good time to let her know of her fate by telling her that little girls who eat rugs have their mommy parts taken away and sent to (enter third world country of your choice here) to doggies who don't have them.
On another note...I was thinking about this little thread....I have somehow have turned this into "The biography of a little brown dog". So as not to turn this into the longest thread ever I probably should just turn this into a blog. I will post something letting everyone know when I have started this endever. |

I started my blog on shorthairs.net too, The Life and Times of Johnny Ringo, but when I set up my website I moved it to there. You can find all the original posts and the more current ones at

To start at the beginning of Ringo's blog you have to go to July 28, 2008 here: blog.yellowrosegsps.biz/archives/date/2008/07/28 and work your way forward to the present. Ringo puts pictures in most of his posts. And don't tell him he doesn't have thumbs as he would be heartbroken.
BTW Ringo will have a niece soon named Fauna and she is likely to take after her uncle and come up with a blog as well, but in any case I am sure Uncle Ringo will be writing about his niece soon. |

| Shorthairs are very foot oriented as you have found out. It is cute, but it can be a pain especially when you get a big shorthair foot in the face on a Saturday morning when you are trying to sleep in. And yes they play hard. |

Adie looks like my Benelli with the same chest markings. I am sure they act the same as well, although Benelli hasn't chewed the entry rug yet  |

| Here is a quick up date. Adelaide made it through her surgery. She is have a hard time understanding why we can't play fetch, or jump up on the bed, or rip up and down the stairs, or sprint through the talll grass, or go on our walks....ok well do all the stuff she loves to do. I feel bad for her. I am a little upset about her stitches. They just don't look very tidy. The poor girl won't leave them alone either. |

You will both great through this with a little time and patience. Give her a couple good ear scratches from Shiraz (who will be going through the same thing in a couple months) and Bogart (who, being a boy, had an easy recovery from neutering). |

It seems like she has been leaving the stiches alone so far today. Knowing her I bet she would love having the the cone. She loves her "pretty princess collar" (e-collar), and gets so excited when I put it on in the morning and sad when I tak it off at night. She like to feel special.

The countdown is on....Adie is going to the trainer around September 12th. We visited the trainer yeaterday I feel real comfortable leaving her there for a month. She was able to chase her first birds around. I have a good feeling that I will be sending her back in the spring to start her SAR training. Plus she gets to hang out with one of her half sisters . |
