His name isn't Midnight - LOL although nothing is set in stone yet. Thinking on the lines of a welsh name as he is part welsh bred and a welsh name would be a bit different as he is a Czech horse. Quite like Idris.

I'll let you know though.

Very cute, can see the welsh in him. Was it a straightforward birth?

Yes, everything was fine thanks. Astra was in intermittent labour from about 4pm, although she had been false labouring for a few days. She kept lying down and huffing a puffing, then getting up and eating her hay like nothing was going on. She evetually got down to push him out at about 11.40 and he was out at 12 midnight.

If you are going with a Welsh name, perhaps you might consider:

Meurig Twedwr

MEURIG: Variant spelling of Welsh Meuric, meaning "dark-skinned; Moor."
TWEDWR: Welsh form of Latin Theodorus, meaning "gift of God."

How about "Brenhin," which I think means "King?"  Or Snowdon?  He's lovely.

His name has to start with either an A or a C.

ALED: Welsh name meaning "offspring."
ANEURIN: Variant spelling of Welsh Aneirin, meaning "modest, noble."
ARAWN: Welsh myth name of the Lord of Annwn ("un-world; under-world"), possibly meaning "unrestrained wildness."
CADFAN: Welsh name composed of the elements cad "battle" and fan(g) "raven," hence "battle raven."
CADWALLADER: Variant spelling of Welsh Cadwalader, meaning "battle leader."
CARADAWC: Variant spelling of Welsh Caradawg, meaning "dearly loved."
CYSTENIAN: Welsh form of Latin Constantine, meaning "steadfast."

OK.... I am done. LOL I just get carried away with this kind of stuff. Please forgive me. :)

Cader Idris--seat of Idris, its a mountain in Wales.  You get your "C" and Idris too!

TMerkler, you're way ahead of me--bnt I did take a class in Medieval Welsh in college!    Cute professor, that's why!
