I don't like Norm to lick my face,  but I often hold his face to mine (cheek to cheek) and whisper to him how much i love him.

Nope, they have never tried and we're happy about that!
Gross! Have you ever seen some of the stuff dogs put in their mouths?
And they licks the grossest places, too!

I saw a show on TV that tested bacteria on different surfaces and a dog's mouth came in cleaner than most kitchen sponges. That may be saying more about kitchen sponges than our pup's mouths.

Should I feel bad that my son lets the dogs kiss him but doesn't let me kiss him, LOL!

I have heard that too about the dog's mouth and a kitchen sponge....Kitchens and bathrooms can get pretty gross if you don't keep up with the cleaning! But I have also seen the stuff my dog eats and where he licks himself so no thank you on the doggie kisses!

A good way to spread worms is thru oral ingestion!
Especially tapeworm.

I don't plan on letting any worms in... LOL.. She doesn't get close enough to my mouth... just my nose.. I think I'd know it if there was a worm in my mouth!

You would be suprised! Some worm eggs get passed out in faeces - dog licks bum and picks up eggs on tongue - tongue touches mummy/daddys face/lips - worm egg ingested by mummy/daddy!

Done!

OH.. didn't think about that.. Serenity hasn't been subjected to anything with worms and isn't old enough to kill any rabbits or birds. They only place it's possible for her to get them would be from the cats and they've been worm free for several months. The puppy breath/saliva is good for now at least!

When my partner asks for doggy kisses, i remind him of the time he didn't know what Roo had in his mouth and took it out to find it was DOG POOP. He had to walk all the way home with poo all over his hand. Haha.

Hasn't learned anything from it.

Jo - you would be suprised. They can pick them up from anywhere - including their mother - the grass- etc etc!!!

Layla likes tro get nose to nose & snuffle, but neither one of mine are face lickers (unless my sister's kids have something really tasty on their faces). But, they are both lotion lickers & I have to put socks on right away when I put lotion on my feet. :)

I gotta say- aniamls are all gross. I love them all,but ain't kissing any of them.I don't like my dogs to lay on me or the kids or the furniture.
But, I will put up with stinky, stinky gas. How gross!

My dogs have eaten and rolled in the stinkiest stinkies.
We have friends who have a farm vacation and a guest brought their dog- a furry mutt. well, I told them at breakfast to be careful of the dumps - they're land mines - but when their dog was rolling in them and eating it they thought it was funny and happy their dog was being a dog. Well, they found out the hard way that cow dung smell isn't easy to get rid of and at dinner time they were quite unhappy and breakfast the next morning wasn't any better and they drove 3 hours home.Wonder what they did when they got home?
Giardia is a big fear for me.
