Yesterday Wolfgang just layed around and woldn't eat much (about a cup of food), had no interest in playing, etc...  I took his temp at 4 am and it was 104;  at 6 am it was 103.2.  He hasn't vomited and his stool was fine this morning...  I'm perplexed.  My wife has him at the vet right now.  It's just not like him.

Hope he is better soon. Dog's temps for normal run in a range from about a 100 degrees to about a 103 degrees so maybe it isn't too bad. For us humans 103 or 104 is really high, but not so much for dogs. Let us know what the vet says.

The vet said that the lethargy and lack of appetite is due to the fever which was 103 at the vet's office.  I know from previous experience wlhen Wolfie was about 4 - 5 months old that his "normal" temp runs a little high (between 102.5 and 102.7) so I'm not alarmed by 103.  Wolfie goes to doggie day care 2x per week (he absolutely loves it) and most likely picked up something there.  Got a shot of Keflex and script for 7 days.  Vet said that he may start to feel better as early as this evening.  Thanks for all the positive thoughts -- it's hard when your dog gets sick -- he can't tell you like a child can.  My son who is six can at least tell me he has a belly ache.

That is such good news. That is usually what happens. They get us upset and then bam, they are fine.
