I'm lucky to have to seldom leave my 4 GSPs for more than 4 hours at a time. When the weather is nice, they are out in our 1 acre fenced yard while someone is home, almost all day. The younger 2 dogs, 20 months and 7 1/2 years get a half hour off leash run probably 5 times a week. I train agility twice a week at a big facility and almost daily at home. My youngest is also working on retrieving, whoa and obedience at least twice a day. The older 2 dogs, 11 and 12 years get mostly leash walking though the 11 year gets a couple of off leash runs each week. We have leash laws here that only allow you to have 2 dogs with you hence the split up of my dogs. I'm looking forward to moving next year to a 60 acre treed prperty with gorgeous trails and all 4 dogs can go along.

Well Hogans only a bubba so max of 15 mins each day walks - most of that is off leash although he does go on the leash to and from the car (he's not old enough to walk to the river, along it, and back yet - although we only live 10 mins walk away).

Some days he does come to the stables with me to, but at this age he doesn't ever go off leash there.

This may be a reason to have two and it is also true that energy levels DO vary.  My first pair rarely even went for walks (unappealing neighborhood with the occasional nasty stray); with Jasper and Chelsea we do go for a 30-45 minute walk on weekends.  I also play fetch with Jasper for a while whenever I go out back.  But basically they have all self-exercised in the fenced yard.  When they get antsy they chase each other round and round like maniacs.  Chelsea "hunts" much of the day and that engages her mind as well.  Would they love to go running off leash through the woods (if we had any)?  Sure.  Are they neurotic or destructive?  No.   Neither were my even more "deprived" first pair, which included the Sainted Pepper, the Best Dog Who Ever Lived.

With me and Dax it depends usually on school and weather. I try to walk him at least 2 miles every day at the least plus playing inside. About 3 times a week we go to the dog park on top of that for atleast an hour or two. He also gets to run off leash in the fields/woods atleast 2 times a week. It all depends...sometimes on busy weeks were pressed to even find time to walk outside, but thats rare. With my schedule I usually walk once or twice a day, offleash hike/walk once or twice a week, and dog park 2-3 times a week. It varries but we exercise pretty well...weekends we get long walks...this past week im on spring break so he's been out alot to the dog park, shed antler hunting, and on a 7 mile walk.

Mine get about a 20 minute run off a quad 2-3 times a week, if not quad, a longer off lead run or biked, but not more than 3 times a week due to work. I have a small fenced yard, not much running to be done there (plus the young ones raise heck when playing, I seperate them outside-don't want complaining neighbors).
Had all of January off & part of Feb due to high snows & bad weather, they got a bit pent up, but not bad.

Xara gets fence play time chasing a ball, or playing with Sniper in the fence. I'm going to the gym to be able to take her on walks on the hills here, right now she's limited to what I can walk without my back giving out. Hopefully soon we'll be able to do some major power walks together.
I also do some obedience with her every night, just basic stuff, sit and down mostly, and come when called to keep her busy a bit.
Luckily she's pretty laid back for a GSP and seems to do ok with this for now. I'll be soooo glad though when winter breaks and we can hit the parks.

I am lucky enough not to have to work so I am with Baira all day and she comes everywhere with me. Only place I don't take her is to docs or dentist appointments. I go to the stables every day and she gets 3 to 6 hours free running around and playing with ALL the other dogs time. Occassionally (like today as my daughter is off school sick) I don't go to the stables so I will take her out when my husband gets home, probably for about an hour. I'd like to have taken her out this morning too but my husband had an early meeting to get to. She's quite settled at the moment but I know she'll be very restless by this afternoon. There's nothing I can do about it though so she'll just have to wait. I'll go and throw a slipper in the garden for her if she annoys me too much with her restless pacing.
