There is no denying it, having a GSP is hard work BUT there are moments that make it so much more worth it...
This is how Hogan has taken to sitting now (excuse the PJ's!)

Come on... let me see your "makes it all worth it" pics |

Very cute! I don't have any pics of this, but Daniel & Layla both like to curl up as close to me as they can on the couch. If I am sitting next to an arm & there is only room for one dog, they get pretty creative in trying to be the one that's closest. Layla has no sense of personal space & she will usually just climb on top of Daniel. One day, though, she got fed up w/trying to get Daniel to give her some space, so she got up on the back of the couch & then draped herself around my shoulders like a scarf. |

Hah.. Uno that makes me laugh! These guys will do anything to be close... and Shelley as Hogan gets older (BIGGER) the more amusing their attempts get! Murphy has contorted himself into some seriously crazy spots and positions in order to be next to me. He is always ready to curl up like a roly poly bug and take a snooze as soon as I settle down on the couch at night, but sometimes there isn't room for a 65 dog... somehow he makes it work! Can't believe how big Hogan is getting...he's so cute!!! |

| So no pictures, but at bedtime we have a scramble for the bed. The furkids all know to stay out of mom's side of the bed, but the rest is fair game. The competition is who gets up their first and next to mom. Usually Ringo gets up their first, but if Belle decides to join he immediately moves and give Belle the prime location. However, if Halo gets up their I get the staring contest to see who blinks first. This can go on for several minutes, with Halo doing the heavy sighing until she gets her way. Eventually Ringo gives up and moves. I usually end up with Belle up by my lap with her head in my lap. Halo down on my legs and then Ringo piled on top of Belle and Halo. That is ok while I watch TV or read, when I get ready to sleep I have to make them get up, so I usually take them out and when they come back the girls scatter to their favorite part of the house and Ringo ends up with the prime spot next to mom. He is a real momma's boy. |

Ok... here's my "makes it worth it"... it's pretty old... Murf was about 12 weeks here and had spent all of July 4th playing with another puppy... he was absolutely ZONKED and passed out in my arms. He slept like this for about 2 hours while we sat outside and chatted with friends... I didn't have the heart to move him |

This is Koda and her cousin McKenna (my sister's boxer). They had a great time running in the mud, playing tug-of-war, and warming up in front of the fire. They finally ended up taking a nap with me on the couch. I try not to get up when Koda is napping with me because although she loves it, she usually just wants to play fetch. I love these moments.

Careful what you wish for ... I have an almost identical picture of Murphy laying on his dad at about that age... I asked him what he was going to do when Muf grew up and got to be 50-60 lbb??? He answered in much the same way you did..LOL
Murphy now chooses me to snuggle with and it does get rather difficult to breathe.. |
