I think its because Dax is teething...but his breath has been terrible the past few weeks. Is this normal with teething pups? I dont remember our other dogs having breath like this...and it seemed to change when he began loosing teeth. Anyway to fix this?

If it is beyond a puppy mouth smell and you have concerns, ask your vet. Bad breath sometimes indicates other issues.

We experienced this. Just for a week or two her breath got really bad which was unusual for her. Our vet said it was probably just a tooth that was having trouble coming in. Anyway.. it went away shortly after. Joey never has bad breath its pretty refreshing.

Check to make certain there is no eating of other animals feces.  When in the field, Queen will nibble on cow pies sometimes.........whew, the breath gets awful.

He has eaten deer poop before, but we havn't been out in quite some time. He acts fine other than that...it started when his teeth really started falling out alot, and still going on. It went from hardly any breath at all to pretty smelly?

It's his teething more than likely. When they start loosing teeth they have raw places when the teeth come out and they can get smelly, especially if he has trouble loosing some of the teeth and they keep an area irritated, raw and bloody. I have never had a problem with deer poop making for stinky breath.

I can't stand the odor of a pups breath when they are teething, has that funny almost rotten bloody smell. Worse if they lose multiple teeth at the same time.

When all the puppy teeth are gone. If you want to speed it up, give him things to chew on. I find for teething the rawhide chews work great, just be sure you watch him to make sure he doesn't swallow a chunk of the rawhide chew. By the way, if you give a chew do not be surprised if it gets bloody.
