Belle was a little over a year old when I got Halo. Would have gotten Halo sooner, but I had to wait to for her to get conceived, born and reach 8 weeks. Belle and Halo were best buddies from the first and are still buddies.

the more the better. Its not that hard to have multiple dogs...they keep eachother busy. Baira would love it and they would wear eachother out!

Do it. haha

My gang minus one(Mac wanted to saty home) today at my grooming shop enjoying some sun. L-R, Buck, Tara, Jesse, Jet is laying in front of Buck.
Buck is Taras sire, Tara is the mother to Jet & Jesse. Mac is a half-brother to Buck.
I really enjoy my little clan, they are not any trouble, the worst thing is finding time for individual field work, and lots of muddy paws to wipe once the snow goes.

This is me with my gang, and I second what Ann said about the gang.  Love my kids and they really are pretty easy to take care of.  I even have mine trained to come in one at a time when it is rainy and sit on the small rug and lift there feet to be cleaned.  I plan on adding one more when Halo has her litter in the fall. I honestly can't imagine not having a pack of three or more anymore. From left to right:  Belle, Ringo and Halo

wonderful to read to many good accounts of multi-gsp homes. I am looking to bring another into the yard/house/hiking trail but was a bit concerned about attention and exercise. Anyone with advise on girl-girl versus girl-boy if 2 dog house? I am not planning on breeding but was wondering about temperment between the 2 (8 dogs have raised me, never a male)

We have one of each: Bo, who we raised from 8 weeks (and turns 3 today!) and Shiraz who we started fostering last year (and is about 5.5 yo). Razzie is going back to the breeder next weekend to be bred one last time. After this litter, we will adopt her.

It's been awesome having had Razzie in the house. As a mother of two previous litters, she is awesome and shutting Bo down when he acts like a dingbat. And he just lurves having his big sister around (they are half siblings). She has really helped Bo calm down and it's nice to throw them both in the backyard when energy needs to be burnt off. Here's a pic taken of the two of them at Christmas ... (Bo - L, Raz - R)

I'm not sure if it's the difference in ages or sex that makes them mesh so well together. Bo is definitely a momma's boy but in the evening he will fight falling asleep (so we can watch tv) tooth and nail. Razzie definitely knows when she is tired and will snuggle on top of whomever is down first.

I have three, 2 females and 1 male. The girls rule in my pack, but never had any problems with them getting along. It is nice to be able to put them in the backyard and have them exercise and entertain each other when I can't. My two girls are 6 and 5 and my boy is almost 2. I am planning on breeding my youngest girl and keeping another female from that litter. So late this year I will have 4, 3 females and 1 male.

Yes, Belle is the size of a smaller male. She is about 24.5 at the withers and weighs about 56 lbs. She was however the runt of her litter and is the spitting image of her mother. I think she also got her mothers dispostion too.
