| Welcome Sarox and Norm. We have quite a few members with new puppies right now. Norm is very cute. He looks like a solid liver from the picture. Love his face. What are your plans for Norm? Family dog, hunting, other performance events, show ring? |

too cute! Ok I am so getting puppyitis!!! BUT it will be a couple of years before I can even consider another dog. BUT I am not making the mistake of getting a winter pup!!! I will get one AFTER tax season.. that way by the time the weather gets cold.. puppy will be potty trained! Carrie |

Thank you for the welcome, I'm really enjoying reading through this forum, there's a lot of experienced GSP owners here.
When Norm is older I plan to take him on runs with me. I'm a runner and I'd love a companion, the rest of the time, indoors with his human pack. I'm a first time GSP owner. Also a first time male dog owner, I'm not sure if that makes any difference at all but I'm about to find out.
He's full of energy but also eager to please, he sits before coming into the house, before meals, sits for pats, the recall isn't so good, I'm stuck at the point where he's challenging me on recall, we just need more time on this and my newly purchased long lead.

Welcome Sarox, I would start "jogging" with him, as soon as he can keep up...that way he gets used to the routine Besides leash walk/runs are a GREAT way to tire out a GSP puppy We walk the dog when we can't get to the park, and we always add a little jogging and biking to get them used to different situations Good Luck, take LOTS of pictures and HAVE FUN!!!! What a lovely face. The challenge on recall is so annoying isn't it..they know the command and will turn and look at you when you say come, but with a look on their face as if to say 'oh i don't THINK so!!' Good luck with him. |

What a handsome boy. I love the name. We have a Norman-he's a gray tom-cat. I also have a co-worker with a lab named Norm. I believe the actress Jennifer Aniston has a dog named Norm. |
