Well the new pup wants nothing to do with his Pro Plan puppy food and will eat Buddy's Premium Edge like crazy, anyone see any issues with this?

I know ours' were weaned straight to a whole life food. I know there has been some debate about the need for puppy food, but I am NOT an expert. I know our dogs look and feel great (3 and 6 yo).

zimbass -  No, I had trouble keeping weight on Ringo and Halo when they were pups and eating puppy food, so I switched them to the adult food pretty quick.  I feed a high protein and fat food though too.  This is an interesting table from the Assoc of American Feed Control Officials who determine the guidelines for whether or not a dog food can carry the "Complete and Balanced" designation.  If you notice the biggest differences in puppy and adult food is the protein and fat (puppy food is higher in both).  If your adult food is high protein and fat I would think it isn't that big of a deal.  I know mine didn't suffer any when I switched them and they actually put on some weight.

The food he is eating is 26/15 and the puppy pro is 28/18, although I was instructed a long time ago to give a pup a tablespoon of whole cottage cheese, so he gets that also.

zimbass - With it that close and the fact that he likes it, I would probably switch it.

For Queen, protein is the thing. I switched her from Diamond pup food to Purina pup food. From 31 to 27 p and she loves it
