the wonderful thing about fleece is it holds up to chewing! I use fleece for Xara's toys because she cannot chew it up!
Xara has discovered the fringe on her bed, and she's chewing on them, but she can't break them off or get any pieces of it which is why I love making dog things from this fabric

I second the fleece toys! I had some fleece laying around from a project I did a long time ago...I cut strips and braided them together and then I cut strips and just knotted it (we call that one the octopus cuz it has 8 legs) I made them all different sizes too.

Me too. I'm not too crafty, but I don't want to buy Koda a bed that doesn't cost $100 that she will immediately destroy.

Hahahaha ... I didn't realize it was made of polar fleece. We buy blankets for these guys all the time. I'll have to post a picture of what Bo does to his blankets. (Sadly, I'll have to pass on making the bed I think...)

As promised ... here's a picture of Bo's fourth or fifth blankie.

When it's more holes than fabric it's time for a new one. (He chews them like a soother ...)

Oh well, thankfully they are cheap at Walmart.

I still haven't received the instructions on how to make them. :( I guess I have been a BAD girl.
If I promise to be GOOD, may I get the instructions and tips for the NON-crafty please?

Terri - Mel posted them on her Facebook status Friday night if you can find that. If not, I think I have the link somewhere.

Great idea.

I buy the big dog beds when Costco has them (like $20). I like them because the covers zip off for washing.
When the stuffing goes flat, I take it out and refill with a piece of corrugated foam (mattress toppers). The twin size foam pads are usually less than $10, and you an get a few beds out of one.
I am the queen of cheap!

Good idea. I might try to make one duvet style, with an overlapping slit on the underside, to cover up some of my ugly unwashable (no zipper) beds.

I have a sewing machine, but we don't always get along!
