Probably a stupid question but maybe you could humour me!

I'm trying to understand Hipscores - I've looked it up and it says the dog will get a number between 0 - 106, the lower the better.

Anyway, the score I've seen is 3:5... how does that translate?!

Thanks, Shelley

I believe that is the system used in Great Britain. Maybe it is used elsewhere, too?

I think that each number refers to one of the hips. I have a British friend who has GSPs, and she mentiones numbers like these from time to time. Hopefully, someone from the UK or any other country which uses this method of scoring hips, will respond.

BTW, I have no idea how a "3" (for example) might compare to an OFA or PennHip rating, but it sounds good.

That hip score is fine, you want the combined hip score to be 11 or less.  So for example your of 3 on one hip and 5 on the other gives a total of 8 which is well within.  The ideal is 0:0.

Did you have hip score of just one parent, or both.  Should be on his KC certificate.

You must be so excited, i get mine in 2 weeks and cannot wait!
