We picked him up at 12pm.  We brought Blitz with cuz the breeder wanted to see him again.  Donner was very whinny and wanting to be adventurous in the truck and Blitz was very curious of him.  My husband drove so I held Donner and Blitz stayed in the back sitting on the floor so he could reach his head up front.  We let both dogs go potty outside and Blitz did good not overwhelming Donner.  Donner got cold very quickly!  So inside we went where we discovered Donner is much more bold than Blitz was.  He was off exploring every room whether we followed or not (Blitz had to be coaxed and picked up and brought into the other rooms).  Then they chewed on the chew toy/bones (an assortment) and played.  Donner finally got tired around 2:30pm and crawled into my lap for a nap and Blitz went outside to do chores with my husband (dad).  The boys got home and played with both dogs.  Donner was still very sleepy so he is sleeping in the boys laps while they play video games and Blitz is now napping by me in his dog bed.  So here are the pictures!

Brrr! It's cold!

Hey I think that is my toy...

Wow, so so so cute! I love the photo documentation. :-) It's so interesting to see the size difference between Blitz and Donner- they grow up so fast it can be hard to remember just how small they were only a few month prior.

It looks like they're going to be great friends!

Donner und Blitz nochmal, those are some fine pups!

Love the names....

Donner did very good his first night. He slept in bed with my youngest (6 year old), he has a bell on his collar so I can hear if he wakes up. He woke up around 2am so I took him out for a potty and brought him right back in and to bed with my son. I was worried he wouldn't go back to sleep but he went back to sleep right away!

He is a bold and strong willed pup. You can tell him no and smack or grab his mouth if he is chewing something and he will go right back to it, Blitz did not like getting in trouble so he would stop right away.

Today's adventures were Blitz went with my husband and kids to my parents farm for chores and Donner came with me to the barn I do my equestrian stunt riding. My husband couldn't handle both dogs and Blitz needed to get out there for a run. So Donner did get some kennel time in my truck while I rode (I ran my truck with the heat cuz it was cold outside)...Then once everyone was home the dogs played and then napped!

Oh he is gorgeous. Are they playing nicely, or is Blitz being boisterous? Glad the first night went well, it's amazing how different their personalities can be. Look forward to more piccies.

They are playing pretty nice. Sometimes Blitz gets him pinned down pretty good, but if I tell him to be nice and gentle he backs off...Now Donner gets really going and will bite Blitz's ear or lip and he won't let go...Blitz won't yipe or growl or flip him off he just looks at me like "help" so then I have to make Donner let go...I try not to interrupt them making their pack order (which I think Donner might go straight to the top) but I can't let Donner do that to Blitz and I am the alpha so I guess I get to let them know what I think is ok playing!

Donner got to play with my parents Blue Heeler she is older and she always growls. Blitz has never respected her growls he will still lick her face is she is growling. Now Donner respected her and backed off and never got on her or bite her like he does to Blitz.

Donner is very cute! Enjoy the puppy breath while you can.

Bo has always been a fairly boisterous boy, but Razzie can bring him into line without even lifting an eyebrow. Amazing the power a momma dog has :)

You might be surprised at who ends up at the top of the pack dogwise. Belle was the same way with both Halo and Ringo when they were puppies. She always had bloody bite marks from puppy needle teeth. I used to get so frustrated with her because she would take so much abuse from them. However, once they reached about a year for Halo and 6 months for Ringo she let them know in no uncertain terms who was top dog. Neither have ever challenged her again. They know when they are puppies and then know when it is time to lay down the law. Belle rules my pack and if the kids are doing something she thinks is wrong, she will come a tell on them.

It's good to know that some dogs will just take the abuse of puppy teeth and bites...I was beginning to think Blitz was a major sissy, but maybe he is just waiting for Donner to grow up a bit...I guess time will tell!

Sniper let's Xara grab his ears, pull his lips etc. to a point. He used to just let her do it, but now that she's older he does correct her, albeit mildly, and let her know he doesn't appreciate it as much as he used to. These two are very respectful of each others boundaries so far. Xara has learned when Sniper gives her that look to back off, and he's learned that she has a look too that he better respect.
I made them new dog beds today and one is on the living room floor. Xara claimed it and when Sniper would go over to sniff it he'd get "the look", and he'd just calmly lay down until she walked away from the bed before he'd go check it out. She'd come zooming back and dive in the bed and give him the look again, and he'd back off again LOL. I dunno but I do think SHE is beginning to rule a bit.
