Noticed a lot of excited potty issues lately however I have the opposite which I guess is a good thing!

When I first got Blitz the first thing in the morning was go outside to go potty, then eat...first thing after being let out of the cage when we get home I would take him out and then let him in for his greetings.

However he has changed the game he will not go outside first thing in the morning till he eats...which means he waits for me to get the boys their cereal breakfast and then he gets his...then he goes outside...

When we come home I try to let him out but he doesn't go till he has greeted everyone...

I don't have a problem with this cuz he doesn't have accidents, I just see this as him having to wait a little longer for breakfast and morning potty when the new pup comes tomorrow...I am sure I will have to let the pup out first thing in the morning even before the kids breakfast...Poor Blitz will be standing there being patient for his food and potty, LOL!  I have thought about waking up 10 minutes earlier to do the puppy stuff ( I don't like mornings) but I wonder if Blitz will wake up then anyway...I think he knows when my alarm clock goes off...any way just thought I would share my strange situtation!

Splat - Just use the new puppy to re-establish the morning routine. It may take a few times, but don't feed Blitz until he goes out and potties, then the reward is come in and eat. With my girls I was doing the same thing, feeding then outside. When Ringo came he couldn't wait, he had to go out immediately. So, I made them all go out. I had to go out and tell the girls to do their business, but eventually they caught on and realized if they didn't go then didn't get in to eat. I still have to remind Halo to go potty or she will run out and run back tot he door to come in without doing anything. After they eat they go right back out again to do any more business they may need to do. They know the routine now and run to the door to go outside.

chances are when the new pup comes he'll want to go out with it and get back in the routine of going out before eating. Sniper did that when Xara came.
Xara now goes out before eating when Dave gets up, but she will wait to go out when I get up and hour and a half later until I am ready to leave, THEN she goes out, which is great because I want her out right before I go to work.
