Sorry just a little happy post from me as my first post
The litter that my puppy will be coming from was born this morning, 3 boys and 6 girls, all healthy.
I'm so excited, sorry I may be overloading you soon with lots of posts asking for advice
Only 8 weeks to wait now

| The 8 weeks seems like forever! But it will get here before you know it! I called the breeder about Dax the day after the breeding, which was back in August...I had to wait for the whole pregnancy plus the 8 weeks. It will fly by...trust me! It also helps the anticipation to start shopping for supplies...I think I had all the necesities that same week haha, and then picked up extras over the next couple months. |

Ok... well all change here today I have picked out one of the puppies from another litter I had my name down for as there were some issues with the original litter I posted about a few days ago.
Anyway, who wants me to introduce him |

Introducing Hogan
Hogan at 3 weeks:

Hogan at 6 weeks: (naughty boy... hope that's not a sign of things to come!)

Please, I would love to hear your comments (good or bad) on him! We are going to see him in on Saturday just to make sure he is "right"... then all being well he can come home in 2 weeks!
I'm so excited

| No, I am from the UK. Some tails are still docked here but (I think) it was made either illegal, or you had to have the proper documentation/licence? Correct me if I am wrong! |

| Nope you are right. I think the exception is for working dogs or medical. Docked tails are disallowed in the show ring in the UK now. Sad because in at least one study I have seen from Europe the tail injuries went up dramatically. Injuries to tails as adult dogs is a heck of a lot nastier (and they are hard hard to heal) than nipping the tails at 2 - 3 days old, and bloodier too. |

I think I would have preferred a docked dog (for that reason) although I wasn't really that set on it. Also, Hogan will still have his dew claws - I had a chat to the breeder about it who advised that if they caused problems I could have them removed when he was castrated? I can't wait to meet him |

| He looks great! And you don't have such a long wait ahead of you. It'll be fun to watch him grow up in the spring and summer. Good luck with him and keep us updated! |

Very cute...I agree looking at his feet he is going to be huge! If you plan on letting him run in pastures or long grass you may want the dewclaws removed...they can have a tendency to snag on the long grass, ouch! |
