Hi I have a 3yr old neutered GSP that we adopted in May.  He has an in/out door off the house that leads to a fenced in area while my husband and I are at work and HAD free run of the house. He was never distructive until about 4 weeks ago and now he seems to destroy something everytime we leave.  (only with my stuff)  He has eaten a pair of my Jeans, my underwear, shorts and a dish towel (completely ingested and passed - those were scary evenings) just to name a few.  We've "puppy proofed the house" and gated him in the kitchen/dining area with his toys - so he can still get to the doggie door. Now he has got into the bathroom trash (that has a lid) and spread tissues throught the area so that door is shut too.  We take him out everynight to run/play ball for atleast 45 min.  I know that he could be borred durring the day when we are not home but we are at wits end with him and now have baby gates everywhere and doors shut.  We keep everthing off the floor.  Any suggestions on why he is regressing to puppy status? and how I can work on this.  He was originally crate trained and still has the crate that he can get to if he wants to sleep in it.  I don't want to start having to crate him if I can help it because my work day can vary and I don't want him to have to hold it. Thanks for any input.
