It seems like a lot of people on the forum live in bird country! I am in upstate NY (Ithaca/Cornell Univ). Not very many GSP's around here. Not many people to train with either.

Just curious where everyone else is from.

I'm from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I have quite a few GSP friends in Upstate NY as we're only about 4 hours from there.

Seems like Gail and I must be the only ones on the board this morning  We are in Kanata, which is a suburb of Ottawa.

We're actually seeing more and more GSPs each time we go to the dog park -- hopefully the don't become TOO popular

I'm in Pittsburgh, PA, while not a lot of birds in the city we have tons of areas surrounding us where hunters delight in finding birds.

My daughter went to Cornell University for a bit and lives in over by Albany in Cobleskill, NY. Beautiful country up that way!

While GSP's abound in her area, we see very very few around the Pittsburgh area and none in the suburbs I live in.

I'm in Epsom in Surrey (home of the Epsom Derby) in the UK. Very rural and I live walking distance to the downs/racecourse which is fab.

Never see any other GSPs round here, but it's quite nice as Rupert always gets lots of attention.

I live in Northern Illinois. I don't see too many GSP's around here, but I just don't know the right people cuz lots of hunters in this area and everyone knows what Blitz is!

Athens, GA one hour east of Atlanta. Lots of bird hunting in the southern part of the state.

A NW suburb of Minneapolis. No hunting in the 'burbs, but Nova is more of the squirrel hunting variety anyway. :)

Austin, TX, we have quail hunting in the state. Used to be better, but then the fire ants invaded. I understand the quail are coming back now that the fire ants have been somewhat controlled. Quite a few GSPs in the area, but I still don't see them that often as most are outside of Austin.

Upstate NY, Canandaigua. I don't hunt with Oscar, but he has taken out several rabbits, woodchucks and garter snakes that were dumb enough to venture into my fenced in yard. Not a ton of GSPs in my area but the neighbor across the street has one that is a spitting image of Oscar. Once in a while he gets out and I'll see him whip past the window. Always scares me for a minute until I make sure it's not mine!

We live in Brooklyn,NY and spend weekends in Green and Albany Counties in NY.

It's a hike from Ithica but you are welcome. Hunting is plentiful around these parts.

We are in western NC, just north of Asheville. We stay in Charlotte during the winter.

I don't see any other gsps around here but I suspect there are some.

Wow! I thought most of you would be in the south or mid-west.

We actually have lots of birds around here. Grouse, woodcock and pheasant. In fact, Cornell has a pheasant farm where they are raised to stock preserves, sold, etc. I drive by them 2x a day. Beautiful birds.

I think it would help if I was a hunter!!!

I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Not exactly gamebird country.  We see a few GSPs around our area...but they are family pets and running buddies only.  Most are not from hunting lines.

We hunt in the northern portion of lower Michigan and the Upper Penninsula on wild birds...Grouse and woodcock, mostly.  We train on pheasants and chukar at the preserves (there are quite a few around our area).  The wild pheasant population is mostly non-existant throughout the state...lots of habitat loss here.  For pheasant, we try to make a trek to Iowa, Minnesota, or South Dakota.
