It's nice, but I wish they'd got more shots of actual field trials and maybe even skijoring with GSPs at full tilt. The dogs they showed kinda lumbered around compared to the weasels I'm more familiar with... with the exception of the dock jumper of course. I just get concerned that people will assume GSPs are 'hyper like my buddy's lab'. HA! I did really appreciate the guy stating that high energy did NOT AT ALL equal 'non-trainable' (and by implication 'bad'). GSPs are designed for people who actually want to DO things with their dog, and in that context they clearly excel. And speaking of that, I gotta get off this keyboard and head up to the mountains for more skijoring.

Wow!!! Thank you for posting. That description of the German Shorthaired Pointer describes Rocky to the tee!! Hyper , Trainability, need for exercise, room to run and purposeful jobs that GSPs love to do. Great swimmers with web paws and water repellant coat. Believe me after living 13 years with Chese/lab who had joint, arthritic problems, found it very refreshing to hear the GSP doesnot have those problems. Yes Rocky still at 7 yrs 11months old can leap high in the air to catch a tennis ball. Unbelievable. Yes I do have a GSP adopted from the Rescue who is true to the breed description who I just love so much!!!
