(Insert off-color joke here " align="absMiddle" border="0" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/blue/emoticons/wink.gif" /> ) It's not visible from the outside, but the vet says it is definitely there and she is suprised that Layla had gone into heat because usually they are sterile. It's only the 2nd or 3rd case she has seen in over 20 years, so she was pretty excited about it. ....
So did this mean Layla had to get both sprayed and tutored?
Miss Terra had to be treated for heartworms when I adopted her - this means she was "supposed" to stay calm for 2 months. I didn't know about GSP's then. That was when she gave me the scare by sucking down a bunch of soapy water when I wasn't looking. I thought she hadn't been calm enough and was dying. Had to take her to the emergency vet. One of the staff there asked if he could take her home since she was such a nice dog. I wish they would have offered to pay the bill instead. Years ago, my old dog went into heat for the first time on Saturday when she was scheduled to be spayed on the upcoming Wednesday. This contributed to her getting the nick name of "Munster". A few years later she developed the leaky bladder condition where she would just be laying there and her bladder would leak out in a big puddle all over the floor. She had to take DES (estrogen) for the rest of her life. So far, knock on my wooden head, Miss Terra doesn't have this problem.
No, fortunately not, I have enough vet bills without having to pay for both for one dog. lol
