This was the first and only time we caught Archie doing this. How can you get mad at that face? Shame on us for not cleaning the stove top...

He is a beautiful dog!

I swear there is just something about these guys -- it just makes it impossible for you to hold a grudge when they do something naughty!

I'd give the kid a raise for helping with the "house work"!!!

Peter
very funny. I wish I had a video camera to film Max when I am out. I do wonder what they get up to when we are not there. I guess you know now!!!

Sometimes when non-pet people come over, they see our two cats up on the counters. Then they go on to point out how dirty their feet probably and how we should yell or smack the cats or something to modify this behavior. Like there is anyway to keep cats off the counters when you're not at home. If that's the worst that happens then we're in good shape. Now I can show them pics of what Archie does. May be a good way to weed out unwelcomed guests~!

I DID secretly video tape our Maggiemum years ago, cuz she was a crate escaper.  We figured out she rammed the door to a plastic type, so we tried the wire cage type.  And she still got out. so one day I set the cam corder on, and let it roll all day....was funny to watch, it took her less then 5 mins after I walked out the door to escape!  It was a flip over the top type crate door...she figured out if she shouldered one end, she could get out...and she did.  THEN, she went up stairs, and within 3 mins was back in basement trying to free Tracker!  He raised his head, and went back to sleep.  Throughout the tape, I could hear her toenails clickety clicking every now and then, and barking when it was mail man time, then all was quiet.  So we added hardware to the door, and that was the end of that.  You had to "be there"....

Love me, love my animals, I always say. We don't  have kids so our pets really ARE our family.

I have found one of our cats curled up on the stove when something was baking. I just find it funny. My animals still have better manners than a lot of people's kids.

Thank you so much for the compliment. He really is a beautiful dog. We run him every day and his coat is so sleek that his muscles really pop out. Looks like a thoroughbred horse to us... His temperament is amazing. Eats like a pig but evidently has an amazing metabolism.

Here is the breeder that we used. Owner's name is Buck. He is in Michigan, south of Detroit.
