I'm sure Rocky's heart appreciates it. Keep up the good work.

Thanks everyone.  Next week Rocky goes to Summer Doggy Camp for about a week He will be in an outdoor kennel run with daily outdoor field runs and springfield Lake swims with opportunity to retrieve his water dummies. As I have read from others on this forum, when GSPs are boarded else where, sometime GSPs lose wieght??? Who knows Rocky could come back at 75lbs, his weight loss goal we have not yet been able to achieve

Don't worry TessaGA I think all Doggies who lose weight at the kennel, will make it back up when they get back home in their comfortable environment. Our Poge, 1st GSP did gained his lost weight back once back home with his family. This will be Rocky's first time away so don't know how he will do.

Halo typically looses weight when I board her. I think she just goes non-stop though and gets a ton of exercise. She eats well while she is gone. Belle and Ringo stay pretty much level with their weight. Halo just goes over the top having a good time. And as Marie said, she gains it back pretty quickly when she gets home. Tessa - Halo doesn't have any weight to give either so it always shows. I used to worry, but she isn't stressed, so I quit the worrying thing.

Rocky looks really good, and it sounds like summer doggy camp is going to whip him into even better shape.

Well picked up Rocky after 6 days at Doggy summer camp. Rocky looks a little thinner, lost his sharp GSP voice as he barks whenever he hears another dog barking Did spin alot of circles and ran a few times after new tennis balls i got him when he ran into our house. Tired GSP is a happy GSP. Glad to be back home

Just came back from our 2.5 mile leash fast walk this evening. Rocky is now asleep on his real dog bed. Consist of a thin  mattress folded in half layered by a camafage dog bed covered with  mickey mouse sheets topped with a soft quilted blanket folded in 4ths to fit..Bed is slotted between my side of the bed and my dresser. Can you get more spoiled than this??

That is major spoiled, but I can't say anything because mine each have their bed with a blanket in the bedroom too. I keep thinking I am going to have to give up my bedroom to the dogs and go sleep on the sofa.

Just for the newer forum member. A year ago Rocky wieghed 94lbs. Diagnosed with pancreatitis. He was on Dermax for pain, limping greatly on right shoulder  We switched to low fat everything for food., stopped table scrap feedings. No dermax needed. Rocky runs again with no limp like he did when he was 2 yrs old. So greatful for this forum and inspiration everyone on this forum have given us to stay on the right path!!! Thank You!!!
