Juno loves the water and always runs right down to it. Here are some pictures at a pond near our house and at the lake where we have a cabin.

I am very jealous of all the dock jumpers out there. They all look great. Juno also loves docks but he loves running out to the end of them and then putting on the breaks and stopping right at the end. He usually stands there and barks. We believe that he really wants to jump off the end but just hasn't quite figured it out yet. He seems to get to frustrated and starts to bark. He likes to see and be able to touch the bottom when he first gets in the water.

We have tried everything like jumping off the end of the dock ourselves, throwing the toy off the end or grabbing his hind end and giving him a little shove. He catches on to that one quickly and then won't come out to the end of the dock while we are there. Oh, one day he will do it! Good work to all of those who have mastered it. I love to see the pics.

There will only be a couple more months of open water around here so we had all better get out and enjoy it before it all freezes over.

Oh just awesome duck GSP water pics!! Roxi is a real natural. Should have a spectacular Duck, Pheasant season this Fall.  Each GSP action water pics on this thread are just breathe taking  What makes this thread so precious is the general public donot see the water side of our GSPs. When the general public think of a duck dog, it is often a Lab or Chese.  Pointing dogs are often just seen pointing in a field. Just love this thread of our GSPs shining in the water, displaying great talents Juno and Bravepoint your water GSP pics just Rocks

Snowskull, she is sooo sweet!! She needs to back up and begin in a backyard puppy pool before the big waters. Would be nice to have a big dog who loves the water for her to follow.

Last summer we introduced our friends Lab puppy to water. First to Rocky's backyard pool, then to Alpine Lake. a small WI fresh water no wake Lake. Here is Lucy's first time in swimming following Rocky!! It was a hoot watching her learn to swim

Love the picture Tessa. Looks almost like your girl is walking on water. I wish it weren't so dry here. All the lakes are way down and allot of the areas are closed. Even the ones open are not so good right now. One of the creeks near me is dry for the first time in over 30 years. Hope if rains soon.

Okay we all know that GSP's are water guys so lets see some pics people of our dogs enjoying the water!

I have to say, no, I did not know this.  :p

In fact, Bo is TERRIFIED of water. If we turn the hose on, he hides as far away as he can get. We were at a lake on July 4th.  I carried him in to the water!  He did NOT like it one bit.

Great pictures by everyone.  Love the dock jumping shots!!

Must be the Bo name ... our Bo is not crazy about water either. The only time I have seen him willingly go in is when is playing with his friend Diesel (a GSP who LOVES water) and he doesn't notice he's gone in. Apparently, Shiraz is a water devil, and since it seems we are nearing the end of her being in heat (god willing!) we're hoping to get them up to a lake near by with some other GSP friends in the very near future.

What a coincidence; another Bo afraid of water.

The way our Bo acts, I'm afraid someone used the hose as a punishment or correction for him. :(

We can't use that as an excuse == we've had him since 8 weeks. In fact, he won't even go out to pee if it's raining (our dog walker refers to him as the princess -- how demeaning:D)
