I love my dog..duh ??? But I seldom call he by name 1. she came to us as GRETA....I renamed her as BEAN She has sooooooo many nick names Bean-O-Nator...stinky...stanky.. big girl... good girl...stank-O0nator..STINKY McBLINKY...is it just me???? OR do any of our dogs REALLY KNOW their name ???

Molly is generally called by her name. Sometimes I'll go Molllll-E in a high pitched voice and she'll look at me with her head tilted and if I do it again she starts barking.

Tundra is Tiny -T, T-Tot and then we sing " I'm a little t-tot short and stout.... Tiny Tundra Moose is Moose man, Bubba. Then his song is "Moosey Moosey Two by Four can't fit through the ..... door" Even though it really dosn't apply as he is actualy very skinny. Blizt is Boo Boo, or B ( no song for him yet) Rajah is Rajah Brown Head, Buster Brown ( no song either) Spot is Spot Ann, Spotica, Peanut It is amazing that the dogs even know who we are talking to!

Seven has a few nicknames: Haus Hausey Sev Sevy Sevy Wevy Haus is by far the name will call him the most but these are the other names he goes by. Now that I think about it there are to many to list.

Don't get me started on nick names. My wife started calling Mocha poo, then scoo, so I call her baby girl and sometimes pooba scoo. Crazy I know. Hunter I call Gwunta my wife calls him stew pidasso (sure you can figure that out) that was when he was in the insane puppy stage. Belle is Belly Bubkiss, Stud is Mister man, I got my wife back with Doddi because I call her Booger, Booga Boo, and Boogs She comes to all of themCrazy I guess!

Bogart is Bo, Boogie, Bogie, Bogo, Boo, Bodacious, Booey, Booey Manchooey, Boo, Booger, Boogerman, Pup-Up, wuffy-puppy, Sir Humps-a-lot ... etc, etc. He doesn't have very good recall at this point. I wonder why? My favourite though, is a variation of Humphrey Bogart, who he is named after. Hump-free Bogart.

You are all so funny, I don't feel quite so silly anymore. My fave was STEW PIDASSO !!!! Booger was good too. I had a lab that was named Ruger....once when we were camping, a slightly"alcohol impaired" neighbor could not GET that his name was Ruger, and called him booger the entire rally...still makes me laugh Renee'

Gunther is...Gunny, Gunfer, Butch, Stinky, Melba Toast(I have no idea where that came from or what it even is for that matter), Buster, Stupid, Dumb@& Jake is...Otis, Jakester, Brown Dog, Jacob, Buster Brown, Butt Licker. He has a few of the same as Gunther...Butch, Stupid, Dumb@&.

Chase is frequently called Muttley, after the dog from the wacky races. Remember that cartoon, good times! He is also called Buddy boy and Chaser's. I never liked his real name and wanted to change it, but due to my strange barn superstition of never changing a new horses name because it was bad luck, I felt the same applied to Chase. Renee, I think Bean is the sweetest cutest name for your girl GSP, Much better than Gretta!! I just love her nick name. Bean is so short and to the point to discribe how she reflects on you. Way to go!!! My Rocky has no other names as he is a Rocky and acts like a Rocky. So who ever picked his name, named him correctly. He doesnot have a nick name. Rocky is a lap dog ,lick your face dog and wants to be by your side all the time. Rocky is a lover so I could nick him Romeo Rocky

I agree ... every time Bo acts like a Bozo I tell people he is full of beans, and I think of Bean. (Who, come to think of it, looks like a pretty calm dog

I don't see the difference with Bo! The boy could clear the room in 2 seconds. I hope this is a growth thing (it seems to get really bad when he's going through a growth spurt.)

Chelsea is Chelsea-Lu, from "Lunatica", and maybe Lulu somtimes. . .Missy or Princess (when she is being snotty), Missy Lu, Babalu. . .the variations get farther and farther from the original! Jasper is Jasp, Jas-poo, Jaspy-Daspy , Senor Dopey, Senor Stupid, Boo-boy (as in "you're my boo-boy" and most recently Fatboy (after the petsitter overfed him).

Even worse is when you get a group of them and start coming up with collective nicknames. Dogs, Dawgs, Hounds, Los Tres Horribles, The Wrecking Crew, Dumb Dumber Dumbest, The Stupids, All of Ya (as in "AllofyainhereNOW!"), Guys (as in "c'mon guys, gimme a break!"), Everyone, Boys and Girls, Canines.... And best of all: The Horror. Be sure to whisper it a couple times like Brando at the end of Apocalypse Now. The whole lot of them will stand there looking at you intently like '......whaaaaaah?'

I was going to name Belle either Belly Button or Belly Dancer before we came up with Lilli Belle Lotte. Mocha was by far the hardest one to name. I almost called her Nugget. What was I thinking she was obviously a Mocha! Maybe I was supposed to be the Stew Piddaso! LMAO
