Rocky's goose dummy. Great in the lake for water retrieves. But heavy on the arm for tossing. He absolutely goes nuts and will jump off any dock with this toy

I still have to order Tessa one of those fowl dummies, but it would be strictly to add variety to training, not as a toy. I think they are heavier because they are supposed to simulate dead bird weight, and heavier objects can also be launched further than lightweight ones.

One dummy Tessa goes absolutely nuts over - got to keep her on a check cord or she runs off with it - is the one with streamers - oh my! She loves it when the streamers make that flapping noise and hit her face when she runs. It's one I need to keep in the car or I won't have my peace in the house.

If you're not training the dog to hunt, I don't see any harm though in using these as toys...

Here Tessa is in a whoa before I sent her to retrieve the streamer dummy. Before I knew that she won't bring THAT one back, so no check cord

Lucky Leena Not overly excited over certain toys but loves them all. Tessa sounds like Rocky. Got to hide the high value toys or goes nuts. If Rocky sees me carry one of these toys out to the gargage to put back in cupboard, Rocky will lay by the door I went out and do a  spoil GSP squeak I think when ourGSPs get one of their high value toys in mouth, they want to run off so we donot take them away from them. They love them sooo much!!!

Okay, Tessa will hate me for revealing this, but her secret favorite toy at home is this one:

Definitely high value...

Does my husband in running shorts and shoes count? Razzy spins in circles when she sees him dudded up to run. Woe to me when he goes out without her ...

Bo's favourites are his wubba and his tug toys ... these MUST be hidden when hubby and I aren't around.

Tugger use to have the dove version of those duck toys until we lost it in the weeds.  Below is his current obsession.  I really like it.  It bounces really high and has been durable for us.

I don't know about the kong but Tessa's turtle (which is really for puppies or small breeds) is still intact after 4 weeks. She loves to toss and carry it. There are several teeth marks in her jolly ball though ...

So here are the toys that my kids love and Ringo can't destroy.  The first is a ball that came from Clean Run (can't copy the image so here is a link).

www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm

This is a hard ball that they can bat around the yard.

The second is the Jolly Ball, but not the one with a handle.  The one with a handle is gone in minutes.  This is the one with a rope.  Of course the rope is removed pronto, but we have two sizes of balls and they have withheld the test of Ringo's jaws.

And last, and frankly this one surprised me, is the Mammoth Colossal Chew rope.  The dogs love this one and so far it has not been pulled apart.  The only warning is stand away from the rope when the dogs start flinging it around.  It is big and heavy.

We tried the tires that Marie posted and they were gone in a day.  The Kong Rings are not bad, but the dogs for whatever reason do not play with them much.  So, always in search of new and durable toys.

Jolly Ball sounds the best so far if it passes the Ringo chew test!! Tire, Rocky loves, If he had it out for long would be chewed to pieces. Here is Rocky this morning, just after returning from the field where he lost his orange dummy toy earlier this spring Hubby asked where this dummy was last night. So took Rocky out on extension leash in area where we lost it and he found it!! Horray

That rope has definitely been an interesting addition, and all the dogs like it. It is long enough that all three can get into the game. Ringo likes to drag it around. Right now he has it "hidden" in the kennel. The other day it was hanging half in and half out of the kennel doggy door. Again, the only warning I have is when they sling it around it is big enough and heavy enough to do damage to the surrounding area including when it accidentally hits a human. I have got some bruises from it. Doesn't seem to bother the other dogs when it is slung around though. It is all natural cotton and comes in various lengths and number of knots. I got it at PetSmart, but I think Petco also carries it.

We HAD the giant rope. Yes, HAD. Zeus shredded it to the point it was just a knot of threads.
YES it does have the tendency to do alot of damage when they start slinging it about.

Ours lasted about 6 weeks. :)

I don't know...Tessa seems tender with the tender toys and destroys the durable ones :(

This ball still exists, after 10 months, intact, although it doesn't look this clean anymore...

So does this one:

The bones are always a hit, unfortunately she loves to drop them on the wood floor - loud - on purpose I am sure.

Maps don't last very long:
