Kota is now 4 months old. We live in the suburbs but he likes to sniff out squirrels, cats (although he's affraid of them) & he likes to lay on & try to get the scent of dead worms all over him. Didn't know worms had a scent when they aren't in mud. Regardless, we were at a family members land on Saturday night. Kota's bionic sniffer was in overdrive. He got the scent of something & made this guttural or clicking type of noise. Is that a clue for us that he's on to something? We are not hunters & he will not be trained to hunt, but it's interesting knowing all of his breed traits.
You know, we've also learned that through our pre-purchase research, the books all refer to GSP's as being "energetic and lively." We've come to realize that this is a politically correct way of saying "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder." The boy has energy!
Bruce is plowing a good thing? Do dogs with great noses do it or is it ones trying hard to scent because their nose isn't as good or none of the above?
