Dave and I are going on vacation and have to leave the puppers behind. He is going to be staying at a great kennel where they let them play outside most of the day. That makes me feel so much better knowing that he gets to run around with other doggies instead of being cooped up in a kennel all day.
I think he knows we are getting ready to go - dogs are SO intuitive! He has been stuck to me like glue for the last day or so. But I told him he was going to have a great time at camp. Even so, he's been a little mopy lately!! It'll be ok...

| Caryl, Bo always whines when we pick him up after a stay at the kennel. We found a really great one and he always seems reluctant to leave (they probably spoil the heck out of him!)He also loves having all the other dogs around to play with (although, as I am writing this he is wrestling with his sister -- SOOOOOOO glad we got number two!) |

| Mine love camp and when I drop them off they know where they are and head to the yards without even looking back. They always have a good time, but are also happy to see me when they are picked up. Looks like a nice place. It is good to have a dog camp that they like (and that you like) as you never know when you will need to leave them. |

Our dogs and the cat are off to camp on Saturday. I'm going to miss them and be worried sick until I pick them up again.

| Our two sit in the back of the van all day as we pack hoping that they get to come. They never sit anywhere that long,.It is funny and they make you feel guilty if they aren't coming with. |

Well, we are back from vacation!
When we dropped him off, he was SO excited to get out of the car and check the place out. It is a GSP heaven with lots of grass and trees and fun smells!
But when we put him in the holding area and went to finish up paperwork, he started crying and whining so loudly. It broke my heart so much that I had to go sit in the car, and I could still hear him!
I resisted the urge to call and check in on him. I knew they would call me if there was a problem.
When we went to pic him up, it was like his butt was in a blender, going 90 miles an hour, tail wiggling! He was so happy to see us and we were just as happy to see him.
The kennel owner said it took him about 2 days to settle in. (I told my husband, that was probably the time he thought we weren't coming back! LOL ) But once he did, he was fine and happy. She said he was one of the most loving and affectionate GSPs she'd ever known!!
They took great care of him but we are happy to be back together as a family! While we were on vacation, the owners of the cabin we rented live in another small cabin on the property and had a brittany spaniel. We got our doggie fix by walking him and playing with him every day! |

Oh just made Rocky's first going to camp reservations for about 5 days while we all go to Nevada , Carson City for our nieces wedding. Will be a good experience. Will pay the extra so Rocky can go out and play in the Spring field pond and field with the other doggies. Hope he will be good and hope he doesnot cry too much , settles down like Osiris did. We will both survive

I just got Los Tres Horribles back from their very first kennel experience the other week. I was just glad they didn't throw the dogs at me when I pulled up, screaming "... AND DON'T EVER BRING THEM BACK!" I guess they did OK at the kennel but MAN they were awful the first 3 days or so at home. It didn't help that we had critters that seemed to have claimed the place as their own while we were gone, but I think the hounds were just ready to get back together in their 130' x 70' yard and really shred it up. Maybe that means we already live at Doggie Camp- lol! |

Our dogs had a lovely time at camp apparently. Michgan seemed like she didn't want to leave, which happened to help a family who were dropping off their dog at the time we picked ours up. They also pretended that they'd forgotten all the rules for a bit. Cheeky dogs.
The funniest part was that Michers didn't want to let us go anywhere after we got home. Does anyone else's do this? She lies on you and puts an incredible amount of weight into her paws, trying to hold you in place on the couch. |
