Lily our 6 month old has been peeing every 5 minutes or less. She only does it when she is outside but I am wondering if this could be signs of a urinary tract infection? She is taking time to squat and poo so I know if she really had to pee she would take the time to. Should I be a little worried?

I don't know how hot it is in your neck of the woods, but if it is hot she may be drinking more. I just went through this with my oldest girl, Belle. She seemed to be peeing all the time, even a couple of accidents inside which is very out of character for her. I had to take them in for Bordatella so I talked to the vet about it and they did a check for infection and it turned up nothing. We decided since she was almost 6 YO and hadn't had a blood panel in a couple of years to do that too just to rule out any other nasty problems and it came back perfect. So, the only thing we could figure out was she is drinking allot more because of the heat and thus needs to pee more. It is pretty easy to do a check for infection. The vet should be able to do it while you wait. What I would do (and mind you this is hindsight having gone through the same thing with Belle recently) is I would watch how much and how often she is drinking water and if she is drinking more than usual and it is hot, that is probably the culprit.

A couple of questions. First, what's her temp? If it's elevated, that points to infection. Also, how does the urine look as it is coming out? If it is cloudy, bloody or contains pus/mucus then I would be worried about infection. How long has this been going on?

Just started today. I know at 6 months I am going to have people disagree with me but she is completely house trained we can leave both of them wandering around in the house and come home and no potty spots or anything chewed. She had a few accidents when we were home with her which is REALLY out of the norm and then constantly outside. She is drinking more then usual, temp normal, urine looks fine....

I'd probably just watch for a few days and see what happens. Keep checking her temp and keep watching the color and clarity of the urine.
