http://www.shorthairs.net/GSPForum/tabid/220/forumid/2/postid/43821/view/topic/Default.aspx

See above topic for more pics

I am filling out my registration application and the breeder has already filled in the color as

212 -White & Liver

068 - Patched & Ticked

Is this correct?  I would have thought she was liver roan patched and ticked or liver roan patched.  What would you all say she was?

I seen the topic http://www.shorthairs.net/GSPForum/tabid/220/forumid/2/tpage/1/view/topic/postid/23870/Default.aspx#23870 but am still not positive what her coloring would be.

Thanks

Nate

Not really sure if it makes any real difference, but that's not what I would have filled out as the breeder. She's not a true all over roan, but rather has both roaning and ticking - problem is, you don't have that as a choice. That said, I would have said liver roan, patched and ticked.

Here is Halo as a puppy and the breeder called her

Color: Liver Roan

Markings: Ticked

And this is Ringo and the breeder called him

Color: Liver & White

Markings: Patched & Ticked

Confusing since to me the only difference between Halo and are the patches.  I will say Ringo's color today is more distinctively brown and white ticked than Halo. Halo's ticking blends more together.  Hope this helps a little.

Thanks everyone I guess it just depends on how you look at it.  So... I guess I'll just leave what the breeder filled in.

Sure looks liver & roan patched & ticked to me but it really doesnt make a big difference
I would think you could register him online with the AKC with the codes from your breeders papers and list his colors as you wish

As I was to understand it , "Roan" is a type of ticking that is of a 50/50 proportionate blend of ticking, where as there is the same amount of white hairs as there is liver hairs making the ticking melted instead of distinguished.

I would not consider your pup roan, as there seems to be more white seen in the ticking. I would consider Halo & the Mase pup roan as the ticking is more blended and less defined

Congrats  Nate on the new puppy. She is just adorable and bet she is keeping your Sons puppy busy!! Dakota will probably have more runny fun when the pup shoots up in height which happens all too fast. We have a GSP, Rocky who just loves puppies which amazes me.  Have fun  and enjoy each puppy moment . Great pictures

Thanks Marie she is a blast and is keeping everyone busy, kinda nice to be laid off at this point in time cause I can spend more time with her and TRY to get her house broke.    Looking forward to meeting on the 19th.
