Ryan, you can also switch out can of green beans (I like the french sliced) for a cup of food. Just be sure you drain the liquid off as that is pretty salty for our furtribe. Green Beans are a wonderful treat and keep the dog full while cutting them back on kibble. Phyllis |

Leena is very flashy ![<img src=]() " border="0" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/blue/emoticons/smile.gif" />
Thank you.
I am going away for the weekend. I dropped Leena off at a friends house. I am sure she will have a blast-they have 3 young labs.
The house is soo quiet without her |

In addition to Green Beans, when we are doing that we somtimes will also do Pumpkin - NOT the spiced stuff for holiday pies - just straight Pumpkin -- they love that too

Boy you name it. At the low end is Annie, who is 19" and 37lbs all the way up to Shadow, who isn't quite two and is 27" and 78lbs. Bitches tend to average about 23" and 55lbs, males about 24" and 68-75lbs here. There is however quite a bit of variaton. |

I worried a little about Bella, she's 10 months and up until recently was about 37 pounds. She had an issue that dropped her down to about 34-35 but we're back on track now. I contacted the breeder, he said the mom ranges from 40-45 and the male is about 55. So in my case the parents were on the low side of the spectrum so I don't have much to worry about from my dog. |

| Thanks Phyllis. I'll have to give that a try. Never would have thought of green beans. Tug is just getting off puppy food so maybe that will help him slim down a little for the summer. |

When I was growing up we had a yorkie that mom would make a special meatloaf for... it consisted of ground beef, ground poultry, and pureed peas, green beans and carrots, I forget what all else and that is what she would feed Miranda.... I remember one day coming home from school and had a situation where I needed to feed myself before I went to work... I grabbed what I thought was meatloaf from the fridge and heated it up... when I got home that night I told her that the new meatloaf recipe was better than her old one, but it needed tomato sauce.. that is when she informed me that I had eaten the dog's food.. NOT the left over meatloaf she had served from the previous day. Carrie |

| Bev - I'm such a bad father. I hadn't even thought of getting him off puppy food until I saw the thread on here. Another reason why this is a great website! I started adding just a little adult food to his puppy food Wednesday. He never get treats on a regular basis. I keep a few venison backstraps in the freezer. I gave him some on his birthday. He hadn't had any since December. |

now that's skinny. My Haiko is 26" and he falls between 67 & 71 lbs. At 67lbs he looks ripped,if he went down to 61lbs he'd look emaciated. Francine |

Females typically are lighter than a male of the same height. They typically don't carry the same amount of muscle mass nor are they typically as heavily boned.
A ten percent difference would be about normal for a male and female equally well conditioned if they are of the same height/length. |
