well, we're getting a new roof (yesterday & today)... and poor Lola is going beserk....

1) can't run around in back yard cuz all the equipment & fear of random nails until clean up later today... so is confined to leash walks & going to the park...instead of hours running back yard every day....

2) there are people trying to break in to the house!... or so Lola tells me.... what's the balance between hushing her for my sanity...and saying good girl, since i sure hope she barks/alerts us at any other time  there are guys crawling up the house & banging on the walls ...

so i'm so far just saying... yes lola, i here them...good girl... now here's a bone go lay down (lasts awhile, then bark again)....

at least they'll be done later today :)

we have the same problem ... we our having the basement finished, which means the dogs are confined in the house to 1/3 of our square footage. They bark every time someone new comes in and everytime the guys come up from the basement.

I've been letting them bark when the guys come in the house first thing in the a.m. -- the guys have been really great about saying hi to the dogs and that seems to calm them down.

Fortunately, we still have the backyard... :D

Roof repair at Sandy Creek Park was Tessa's introduction to gunfire...nail gunfire! Roofing is loud!

hey, i never thought to equal the nail gun sound with gun sound... so now i'll consider it training

although, when i take her out in the yard on leash, she barks a bit then just keeps a good on the guys...especially ones on the roof.... and they keep a very close on on her too.....

That's what I did when we came across it...was a good way to introduce her as we approached slowly from afar. Poor Lola however, it's right there!
