OK, down to less than 2 weeks to go , Taras' due next Monday(going by the first breeding). She has gained almost 14 lbs, and I have been running her right along until Sunday, that was her last run.
I can't wait!!!!

| AWE!!! The big prego belly!!! How exciting. My guess is ten especially since this is her first litter. Baileys first litter was eleven and they look about the same size! Oh how fun. Make sure to post lots of photos. I love her expression in the bottom photo. It is totally the prego look get these kicker outta here!!! hehe Good Luck! Keep us updated |

My guess (if that picture was taken today) is that she's still closer to 7-10 days out since it looks like she's really not making boobs yet. If that's the case I'm betting you are one or two pups short in your guess. If she does go on Monday I hope you are right or they may be a little on the big side and hard to deliver.
She sure is in good shape though.
I've done the same thing in years past hunting one of my bitches on point less than 36 hours before she delivered. I actually guided over her four days a week up to day 45, then cut it down to half days for two weeks no more than 4 days a week, and I didn't take her completely out of the rotation till the final week.
That was overall one of the best and healthiest litters I ever raise. You just really have to be extremely careful about overheating them or hunting them where they'll have too much stuff to have to jump over or climb. CR

Charlie, yes, she's due not this coming, but next Monday (almost 2 weeks), she could actually go longer if she took on the 2nd or 3rd breedng. She has milk, is actually quite bagged up but more so in the back ones you cannot see in the pic. She has slowed herself down quite a bit so I haven't been running her & probably won't do anything beyond a walk from now on.(she still runs around the yard -but that has slowed)
She's quite large for her body size.....you may be correct in saying there's more than 9 or they are large, think I'd rather have an extra pup than chance a rough delivery of real big pups. (Tara herself was the smallest in her litter & was 15oz at birth!!) |

If she still has that far to go my guess is an 8. Get a photo of her from the front so we can tell how wide she is. Here is a photo of Spirit Wind Regardless (Lily)Pi daughter at 10-14 days before whelping. She had 11 pups.

Tookie is due Tuesday the 5th. She looks the same size as Tara, but she has alot more boobie action going on. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow to find out how many. (Vet was on vacation for awhile and I didn't want to us another vet). |

Yep, had one done last week. Got a good idea of puppy number (counted 9) but with a large amount, could be some "hiding". She barely ate all weekend...not even cottage cheese or canned food, scrambled eggs. Today she ate like a pig though, looks like she may make it until the weekend. (first due date, this Thurs) Hopefully she whelps Fri night & I don't miss any work!!

Phyllis, her temp this AM was 99.5, not to exciting of a decline. I own a grooming shop, so staying home is not an option until I have to as it is just me there. I did only book dogs this week that can be immediately picked up if necessary (have people checking her while I am at the shop) & everyone was fore-warned they may get rescheduled.
Jean, mine also, especially with her being alone all day....really dont want her at the shop around dogs all day at this stage & leaving her home is nerve-wracking. How are your kids doing??? I have to check if you got new pics up yet!! |
