I think what is happening, people click on this thread and are not aware that there are three pages by now...the last post on page one asked what DK/DD is. So we still get members responding to that.

What is mainly important is our GSPs and DKs are German roots. No matter what my GSP responds the greatest to upland birds. No question about that. Taking Rocky pheasant hunting on local game farms is Disney Land to him!!!

Here is what a Greman breeder says the name is about: The historic name of the DK is Brauntiger und Preussisch Kurzhaar. When both clubs united 1934 they got the Name: Deutsch Kurzhaar the Deutsch-Kurzhaar belongs to the Deutsch-Vorstehhunde- German Pointing dogs. but they were never only pointing dogs like the pointer, but allrounder.
