Welcome to
shorthairs.net
Well I haven't seen any of it yet as I was teaching puppy obedience classes tonight. So Halo and I are going to curl up in front of the TV with our popcorn and enjoy the show. Of course, my girl, Halo, has to watch to see if the GSP super model at Westminster is as good as she is. Last year she watched the sporting group and when the shorthair was done she let our a sigh, got up and left. It was the funniest thing.
I was happy to see that Renee's bitch got and AOM. Halo has actually competed against that bitch a couple of times. Of course, Halo was competing as Winners Bitch from the classes and Renee's bitch is a Special.
Congratulations to all the winners!!
Marie - Thanks. I agree, but then I am partial.
I am guilty of being very partial to Halo!!! A true Dream for me is to see Halo earn herself a trip next year or year after to the Westminster Kennel Dog Show
Marie - Sorry to disappoint you, but once Halo finishes her CH she is going to be focusing on obedience (she has become a really good obedience dog) and hunting. I may also give her a whirl at agility as well as she is fast and can turn on a dime and I have already introduced her to all the obstacles.
I am planning on showing her in Novice B (even though she has her CD and is trained for Open, I am holding her back a bit because I want her to do really good at the Nationals) at the Shorthair Nationals this year in May. I will also probably enter her in conformation there as well. My oldest girl (Belle) I will enter in Open A (next level up in obedience from Novice). I am not sure yet what I will do with Ringo.
pixie - None of the reallignments recommended by the AKC committee have taken affect yet. The vote for approve/disapprove will be next month. Here is a link to the proposed reallignments.

The standard poodle is still in the NonSporting group. It has actually won that group every year since 2007. The toy poodle is still in the Toy group and the same one has won last year and again this year.
