I watch it every year and will be anxiously awaiting the results and the video on the Westminster site sometime after 2PM on Tuesday.  I am sitting at my desk typing this and up above my computer is the framed poster from Westminster in 2006 when Carly won Best in Show.  Go GSPs!!

Do they show the GSPs on the Westminster site? Because on TV they don't show the whole thing, right?

I think Tessa's grandsire is going to Westminster (Fieldfines Back in Action "Ace") so, go Ace!

Yes, your right, Ace should be there. I think he is a beautiful dog!! I saw him at the Nationals last year. They do show the breed competition on the Westminster site, They only show the group judging on TV. ,, Laura,Ruby,Sadie

They post the breed competitions on the Westminster site, so you can watch the whole thing.  And yes, Ace is going to be there.

I love the Westminster and do have Monday and Tuesday off so  I can enjoy seeing the greatest Show Dogs in the World.  Even though we all know the Greatest Best In Show dog in the world to you is the Dog laying , cuddled on the couch next to you. Yes I do greatly cheris the DVD I bought of the 129th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show the year Carly won Best in Show. Actually use it as a reference when I need to review a breed of dog I met at the dog park, or just question about.

I also have some friends attending with their dogs so will be watching the Westminster site for results and videos. We don't get much TV coverage of the show here in Canada but I'm going to check if we get the USA Network on our dish.

lauralee: I did not buy her as a show dog. Was just looking for a good dog and contacted Jubilee because I like their dogs/parentage and policies, hoping for an older GSP in need of rehoming and was offered Tessa who was 12 weeks old. Denise thought she was a good match for my lifestyle and yes, she is! Oh how I love that dog!

I wouldn't mind showing her; she is said to be finishable, I know she would love it, and I would love to honor Denise's breeding program by finishing her. I have taken her to some dog shows, but she is too energetic for the show ring at this time unless they change the rules and let dogs parade on two legs, then she would do really well. Also, my plan is to spay her after her first heat, so that would ban her from the show ring. Will decide on it in the summer but I am more leaning to field trials and rally and such.

Some of her sisters are showing, though. They are out of Chance (x Abby) who is Ace's son.

If you have not done already where ever you live, try to get the Westminster Kennel Club web site onto "my favorites" Once on the home page of the Westminster Kennel Club, click on "Select a video", then click on "Breed Judging" Scale down to Pointer(German Shorthaired). Click on that then you should be able to relive all the GSPs from last years 2008 and see all the GSPs who competed. It wiil be a good test to see if your video player is working correctly for tomorrow and the next day!! Hope Canada and UK can get this web site and videos to play. Good Luck!!!

Does anyone know how to view the the current breed judgings live? I can't find anything online at their site, just the old stuff. Surely it's going on now?

I don't think you can view them live.  You have to wait until they are posted which sometimes takes a few hours.

Yeah TessaGA, We have not taken our Xmas down yet except the real Xmas tree.So plenty of party lights for Westminster tomorrow night  Winner of the Herding Group, a Puli, winner of the Terrier Group, a Norfolk Terrier. winner of the Nonsporting group, a Standard Poodle and lastly, the winner of the Hound group, a Scottish Deerhound It seems like the Poodle of some sort Toy or Standard win their group every year. It must be the Poodle fancy ball hair sculptures that the judges love Aren't you glad we donot have to worry about doggy haircuts for our GSPs??

The winner of the Terrier Group is a Scottish Terrier.
And, don't discount those Standard Poodles....they have the "fancy hair ball sculptures" for good reason, and can be excellent sporting dogs. The hair left on the leg and around the chest is protection against cold water (yep, they also do water retrieves).

GSPs don't show til 2 pm today (EST) so, we'll have to contain our excitement for just a bit longer! www.westminsterkennelclub.org for all up to date results and streaming video of breed judging.

Good luck to all qualifiers and participants (tho I like many have my favorite, who really LOOKS like a GSP).
