Does anyone have any experience or  knowledge with ingrown hairs on dogs?

not on dogs.. but I do on humans.. usually soaking the infected area in warm Epsom salt water helps open the pore and the offending hair corrects itself.. otherwise use witch hazel to help with any infection (make sure the dog can't lick that area)

Can you post a bigger version of the picture that is on your avatar?? that cuddle session looks absolutely hilarious.

Well its not your standard ingrown hair where the hair curves over or whatever these actually grow backwards. I've experienced a few with people but they look like little pimples however if you were to "pop" them a hair comes out.

I'll try and get a bigger version of the picture.

the way my dermatologist explained my issue to me was that the pore for the hair folical is not big enough so it forms the pimple effect.. and that is why he advised the hot water soak.. it helps open the pore for the hair to pop out.
