She's beautiful. I love that first picture where she's peeking at the camera.

You guys will have tons of fun and Leena will make lots of puppy friends.  I teach a puppy class and just love working with the owners and puppys.  Belle, my oldest GSP, helps me with the class and I use her for demonstrations.  She also loves puppies.

Have fun and keep us posted on how it goes.

Don't give up on puppy class just yet!

If she acts goofy during puppy classes don't stress over it. It's to be expected! Where are you taking classes? A dog training facility or a pet store?

Oh, it wasnt her.  Leena was one of the best behaved puppies in the class

There were 11 other dogs, ranging from a Shih-Tzu to a Doberman and 3 months to 8 months.  We had one main instructor and two helpers.  The class had way too many dogs in it.

The instructor seemed like she would rather socialize then help..this one couple next to me kept doing the wrong thing over and over and over with the Down command and she never once corrected them.  It drove me insane.

The class was at an SPCA.

The only reason I even signed Leena up for a class was for socialization to other dogs...she is doing well enough meeting dogs in the neighborhood and out and about.

Oh! I just assumed she was acting goofy when you said it was bad :)

Are there any dog training clubs near you?

You can always start working on agility handling with her if you want to do that. Don't need equipment or classes for that. Some other basic behaviors that are used in agility can also be trained at home and away from the equipment.

I did Rally with my Labrador in the past,  but my trainer moved :(

I have heard that some dogs are hard to housebreak. She may just be one of them.

I took Tessa out pretty much ALL the time. After each meal, after each play session, after each nap, etc. Sometimes that meant taking her outside every 15 minutes :)

It sounds like you know how to go about it though, so maybe just patience. They say a puppy can hold its bladder an hour for each month of age, so at 4 months, she should be fine for 4 hours, max. But they tend to go after any activity...

To live without dogs would mean accepting a form of blindness. [Thomas McGuane]

I took my pups out a lot too, probably every 15 to 20 mins. When they were doing their business I would praise them. The neighbors must have thought I was crazy, lol I think the thing that work the best was, I would watch them like a hawk, making sure that they are never out of sight, This way when they do squat to go, you are right there to make the correction. Then pick them up and bring them outside.... Laura,Ruby,Sadie

I get asked that a lot, too, and mine are much too dark to look anything like a Dalmatian!

People are screwy lol Most of the people around here guess that she's a Pointer or GSP mix. They are pretty common dogs around my parts.

Mine is black and white so I get a LOT of "what a cute dalmatian" or "I used to have a dalmatian just like him!"
