Gail -- I think I will order some since Bo is a big time chewer. We are always looking for something for him to gnaw on, and frankly I'm getting tired of him dropping his bones on the floor (he has pretty much destroyed one of our wood steps ... :) I'll look into it a little more and send you an e-mail with info.

I have a lot of chew toys for him.... but for treats... Peanut butter and cheese slices or hotdogs. ALL my dogs go batty for any combination of those 3.  And as for chew toys.. I have a lot of land and he gets to go grab whatever sticks/limbs he wants from the back and bring ONE in at a time.

Carrie - Don't you mean ONE this time, and ONE next time, and another ONE later.  Oh, and the ONE I hid in my mouth.  The ONE that my sister wants....

Do anybody else's dogs actually EAT the sticks they find? Whenever we take Bo in the forest he is constantly finding a stick to carry and will stop and chew off all the bark. Weird! (Esp. when we get to see it again the next morning ... grrr...)

yes. that is why he gets to get the sticks.. that way he is not eating my books, bookshelf or other wood furniture.

My dogs will eat sticks too. Our property is heavily treed so they get lots of opportunity. I usually stop them if I'm out. I'm paranoid of a small stick getting wedged in their throats.

Ringo is the only one that seems interested in sticks, but he likes the really big ones and ends up dragging them around.  I have watched him try to get one in the dogs kennel throught he doggy door and it is hilarious.  He has actually managed it a couple of time though as I have found big sticks inside.  Not sure how he does it.  Most of the time though he is playing with his toys outside and chasing the squirrels.

His favorite though is to empty moms potted plants, tear up the plant, dig in the dumped dirt, and then chew up the pot.  I don't have to worry about any plants freezing this year because Ringo has taken care of them for me. If you want to see a picture of a trimming he did for me, check out my Christmas blog on this site.

i wish i had a copy of the letter my mom sent to the customs/visa/passport people. Lacey ate her passport and apparently there is a category for mutilated passports and it requires filling out some ts-82 forms or something like and returning the destroyed passport. she also included a letter in it because she needs it rushed in time to take her trip in march. the last line went someting like, "please let me know what else needs to happen to receive this in time, and if anyone would like a german shorthair pointer."

Mydog -- hahahahaha! I love it!

Bev -- Bo has NEVER gotten into my outdoor plants ... hahaha - I wish!!!!

Gail -- Bo just seems to gnaw on the sticks to get the bark off and eventually they seem to disappear. I know we shouldn't let him, but when he is out in the open, good luck catching him if he doesn't want to be caught. Sigh!
