I am so excited.   I just bought a fifth wheel to take to dog shows, hiking, etc.  Now all my kids can come with me anytime I go somewhere.   I picked it up today, although I have been working on this for about 2 months (getting the right truck, the hitch, etc.).  I will take my fifth wheel for its maiden voyage this weekend when I go to the dog shows in Glen Rose, TX (just south of Dallas).  I will be taking my entire crew (they ride in the truck with me and they have the back seat to themselves).  I will be showing Halo in conformation, and maybe Ringo in a B Match. To make it even better, shorthair bitches made majors both days.  Now if we can come home a winner, it would be a fantastic way to start off the New Year.

I will post pictures of my new toy as soon as I take some. It was too dark when I got it home today.

How exciting for you! You will have a blast with it. It is the only way to travel with your dogs. Good Luck at the show.

Although we have just ONE...pupster, I refer to our 5th wheel as

OUR ROLLING DOG HOUSE

Congrats...I'm sure you'll all love it......

We lost power for a bit last week...It's always a comfort to know we have a spare "house"...ready to rock n roll....Just crank the ole Generator.....and get snuggy. We actually have a toy hauler ( seperate garage ) for our bikes.....we keep them in the 5th wheel all year, since we keep it heated during the winter. I always thought...the toy hauler option would be a great DOG hauler for people that do shows and what not....

Can't wait to see the pics.....

Well, it was an interesting trip.  First the news on the dog show: no wins this weekend for Miss Halo, but she showed really well and we both had lots of fun.  Got to see allot of our shorthair friends as well because we had a big entry for shorthairs (24).  That is a large number for Texas.

So, the fifth wheel was awesome.  We had some minor technical difficulties, but nothing we couldn't work around.  I think the hardest was the water heater wouldn't work, but it was really hot (in the 80s on Sat) so we took the dogs walking and got really hot, then came back to the trailer and showered. The cold front that came through later Sat night dropped the temps to freezing so I was glad we were headed home on Sun and could wait to shower after we got home.  The other minor oops were a blind came loose and the handle on one of the grey water tanks was not threaded properly, so when I opened the tank to drain I could not close it again (not a problem as we were leaving anyway).  All in all a great trip.

For Renee and Beans here are some pictures of my nephew (who went with me) and my dogs.  I am not sure who liked the fifth wheel better, my nephew or the dogs.

My nephew, Belle and Halo all trying to fit on the sofa.

Same crew on the sofa (trying another position to fit).  Ringo is on the floor chewing on a bone.

Princess Halo on mom's bed in the fifth wheel.

Sleeping in (my nephew and Halo and Ringo).  They liked the inflatable bed that the sofa makes into.

And Ringo and Halo on a bench seat to the dinette.

I didn't get any pictures of the outside.  I had planned to take them on Sunday and it was way too windy and cold.  So, the outside pictures will have to wait until the next trip.

great pics, TexasBelle!

What is it with this breed and sofas?

Our first GSP came home from the shelter and immediately went onto the sofa, like it was instinct.

I don't know, but they love them.  When we picked up Belle at 10 weeks she had never been inside a house.  She was whelped and had lived in a very nice heated barn that had access to a large run.  She wasn't in our house but for a few minutes when she claimed the sofa as hers.

Love those pics of Belle on the sofa - cute! The fifth wheel looks roomy. Wouldn't mind one of those. We're usually roughing it in the back of the wagon.

This is my first one, and I have to say it is really nice.  Like camping in luxury.  My first weekend out and I loved it.

We had a 27 foot trailer we used. It was awesome. We needed money so I sold it but hopefully will get another one. It could sleep like 10 plus. We used to hang out in it on rainy days and play cards. I love the sound of the rain on the roof. The dogs really liked it in there too until daddy went Into the top bunk for a nap and they couldn't get me. Sorry no wins at the show.
