So I am a GSP "beginner" but am hoping to get a good dog. Here's pictures of all those I'm looking at:

Puppie #1:

#2:

#3:

#4:

#5:

#6:

I know #5 and #6 are 8 weeks, not sure how old #1-4 are. Obviously we will "test" their personalities, watch them move, etc. and our other dog will have a big say in who comes home. But looking at the photos... Who would you take home? Conformation critique? Thanks for your help!!!

I think that pic #3 and #4 are the same picture....

That being said, pup 2 would be my choice as well.

were you wanting a boy or girl?

I like the little boy in picture #1 but then again I have a preference to patches of ticks ;)

Out of the 3 different puppies I see I would for sure pick #2.
How old are they in the pictures? Does the breeder do with the dogs the same thing you want from a dog you want to own? Pick a breeder(s) you absolutely have faith in and then pick your litter(s) that you absolutely have to have and reach in and grab a puppy.

I would like to see the show side of #3/#4 before deciding.  I like to watch where the patches are placed as they can sometimes give a good illusion (example is my boy Ringo has a patch on both sides that makes his chest look even better than it is) or a bad illusion (example is a patch right in the middle of the topline that makes the dog look sway back, or at least a funny topline). I think the color looks good on all of them.

I actually like the stack best on 3/4, the other two are stretched out a bit.  They also look a little long in the body, but that could be the angle. Number 3/4 also looks like a little heavier boned which I like. Can't tell much about the heads on any of them.

I guess if I were picking just from the picture I would go with 3/4.  I like the patches on 1, but I don't like the placement of the patches on the back or behind the chest.   Still liking 3/4 the more I look.

That said, I would want to see the pedigree and meet the pups and mom and dad if possible.

Are you planning on showing your pup?  If not, then pick the one you like best.

From these pics I like 2 best for the most part. 2 is a bit fine boned (well depending on age too). The others just seem to have a roach type back to me. Once again it may be the picture.

If you are not worried about showing and are just wanting a fun dog pick the one that suits you best!

I can't see pic 5/6

#1 looks like a winner to me, are you planning to show the dog or just have a buddy around?

Aya I got my first shorthairs this summer so I'm well aware of your situation! I wish you luck but honestly you should give more information as far as your intentions for the dog as well as try reposting the last pictures again! But all the puppies look really cute so good luck picking one! I think 3 would be my pick of the ones that are visible I like the substance of his body and it appears like he might be standing funny which could be giving the illusion of a roach back. 4 would be my second pick of the pictures that showed up.

GOOD LUCK! AND CONGRATS
