That would have made an awesome picture!!! We have been keeping Hunter in the house due to his foot injury. Belle is in heat so we put her out in the kennel while my wife went to town tonight. Hunter will destroy any crate I have ever put him in. We left him in my son's room and when my wife got home he was running around the back yard. He went right through the sliders that are next to the air conditioner in my sond window. He is Houdini. I sure hope he didn't get ahold of Belle on me. I guess his foot is better than we thought!!!

So after reading the last story to my hubby he wanted me to post about what our youngest GSP just did a few weeks ago...

Blitz is now about 5 months old. A couple weeks ago we took out our older male (1.5 yr old) and our female (10 mo. old) to work some birds. Normally blitz is in a dog crate while gone and he does fine in there. We decided to let him be in the "big dogs" kennel while we were gone. It is a 6' wide by 12' deep kennel that we have sectioned into two 6'x6' areas. He was in the front one. We had a great time working birds etc.

We had been gone about 4 hours total and when I came home I went to lift the mannual garage door and felt something jump against it on the other side. I say "No way how can he be out". So I went in the garage. he had crawled out of a spot that he moved the wire that was probably onle 4" big or so. Now this is where it gets good.....

He is running around the garage like a maniac happy we are home. He had gone to the dog food boxes that securly close and had opened the bottom one up and had eaten out of it. He must have been board as he left that and continued to the door. He had figured out how to open the door to the house but before he did that tore off some of the weather sealer we have on it for drafts in the winter.

When we entered the house there were stuffed animals, blankets and cloths ALL OVER! he really didn't hurt anything or destory a single thing. We could just see him grabbing all our cloths and such and running like a crazy man through the house saying WEEE HAAAA!!!! This is FUNNNNNN!

We got a very good laugh out of it especially the proud look he had on his face as we walked through the house to asses the damage! Which there really wasn't any we just had to pick some things back up!

Crazy pups!

Came home from work today to find Hunter & Stud running around the back yard again!! Hunter chewed through the fence and got out. The pup followed. I was supposed to go out bowhunting but spent a few hours patching the hole and working on getting the electric fence going again!

Does any one else go through this? I only have this problem when Belle is in heat! He turns into a total #&?!! She was in the house so there was no way he could smell her or anything! I'll bet he finds the fence tomorrow! That should fix him! I hope!!!

These had to be the  best stories about your GSP's ever. I was laughing so hard reading them to my husband. Makes me look forward to when our little girl comes home and starts making trouble. We will be getting her in 6 weeks. Seems forever the waiting part waiting for the breeding, waiting for the births, and now just for her to be big enough to come home. Oh let me interduce myself I am Heather and my husbands name is Scott we will both be shairing this ID in the forums and Isabell will be our first GSP. I have been looking at this site for about a month or so now and finally thought it was time to get our own ID now that our time is so close to bring our baby home.

I have to tell you all, all these stories have me laughing hard. Now, the only issue is this. I am getting a GSP in the near future. I pick out my pup in November when I am on leave, and pick him up in April when I get home for good. Some of these stories would make my wife cringe for sure. These stories will scare the %$)* outta her. We just got past alot of that with my Basset Hound.
Me personally, I know what I am getting into. Keep the stories coming.

Yeah they do get into alot, but so worth it. They make you laugh when you are down or even when you are angry. I read in a book on these dogs that they are athletes and comedians. Boy that nailed it right on the head! Good luck to you on the new ones!

I love these stories!! Osiris counter surfs, but ONLY at Grandma's house because he know's he'll get in big trouble if he does that at our hosue. Isn't it funny how they can act so different at Grandma and Grandpas?? (Just like kids)

The other day, we were all over there, sitting down in the Den and I heard him get really quiet upstairs.. I came up just to see him hopping down from the counter, licking his lips. He ate an entire stick of butter. YUCK!

Now there's an expression I see quite often.  Guilt and I've been caught.

Ha ha I remember when Diamond stole our cream filled donuts of the counter (during the night). He had never EVER stolen anything before i blame it on the fact it was after we switched him to a raw meat diet and he was craving carbs :D. The truly amazing part was he managed to get the donut boxes open eat all the donuts and then close them again....the only reason we knew right away was he didn't quite get the one back on the counter :D

Hi  , I am fairly new to this site. Altough I have been reading the posts for a few weeks this is my first reply. These stories are just too funny. My female GSP's name is Maia. She is always getting into the dirty clothes and will prance all over the house with whatever she grabs out of the laundry basket(her favorite are socks) She knows she shouldn't and the expression on her face is "I know I'm quilty but this is soo much fun ,I just can't help myself ,catch me if you can"

I enjoy reading the different threads. As soon as I learn how to post pictures I will add to some of them.I am not very computer literate but am  learning.

These pictures are just too cute and stories are too funny!!  Jackson has counter surfed quickly once or twice, but has not gotten anything good....so he seems to leave it alone for the most part.  I hope it stays this way!!  The bathroom garbage cans however are fair game....  I need ones with lids!!

When I got my first GSP I would leave him and Reggie, small dog, in a crate together when I had to go to work. Things went well, they would usually just cuddle up and keep each other company. One night when I got home from work, I'm a server, they met me at the front door!! I was soooo nervous. Kerney was in the middle of her chewing phase!! I had been studying before work and had left my new laptop, text books, and notes laying on the ottoman. I ran over to see if they were all in one piece and luckily most things were. However, Reggie likes to pile everything up nice and neat. Kerney on the other hand likes everything spread out. They had chewed up my Accounting book a little bit. They had also brought a pair of shorts, roll of toilet paper, blanket, and toilet brush into the living room. After checking everything out and realizing there was minimal damage I just sat and laughed. I put zip-ties on the crate the next day. :D The look on my dogs faces was priceless!

We had a huge bag of paper garbage my son was supposed to burn out in the living room. We went to the store (just a few miles away) to get some things for dinner. Well "I'll leave Mocha in she's a good girl" backfired on me big time. We walked into the house and there was shredded papers from one end of the house to the other. It looked like a bomb went off in here. I couldn't even be mad at her, my jaw was on the floor because I was just so amazed that she did it.
