Here is a question for all you experts out there - Osiris has been very "licky" lately. He seems to want to lick everything.
He tries to lick my hands all the time. If he is sitting with me, I have to hide them, or he'll try to lick them.
He licks the window when he wants to go out or come in.
He licks the car door.
He licks the sheets on the bed  (even when they have just been put on)
He licks the carpet, the couch, and lately he has been trying to lick our faces which he never does.
Is this a behavior issue, could he be lacking salt?? Any ideas??? |

hmmm Sounds like Wachter...
we also have to add any little kids he comes across when we are doing therapy visits! HE LOVES licking the kids... especially the really little ones.. one lick and their entire body has been given the doggy bath treatment

| Stud and Hunter are slimers too! Lick my hands, face, arms. Blankets, carpet, chair. Sometimes they lick the girls. The weirdest thing I have seen is Stud licks the gate to his pen waiting for me to let him out. Really nice to grab a slobbered latch! Oh yeah, Hunter loves to lick my bald head when I lay down. |

| Ruger would lick my skin off if I let him, LOL Especially if I put lotion on, he will run over & lick my legs. It actually feels kinda good I think, OK I am weird,LOL & everyone has seen the window lick pic of Ruger, right? |

| Mine are both lotion lickers, too! If I won't let them near my feet & legs when I am putting lotion on they will try to steal the lotion bottle and get their lotion fix out of that. |

LOL Tasha and Wachter fight over who gets to lick my feet. I tend to have REALLY dry skin so it feels good when they do it. The irony in this is that I normally HATE my feet being touched so at the end of the long day, the dog's tongue bath is the closest I will ever get to a foot massage. And yes I know this is gross... my kids tell me that everytime the dogs get started

Yup --- Bo did that to Rich the other day ... in the ears, top of the ears, around the back of the ears  . I suppose it was kind of my fault -- I told Rich to blow on Bo's nose to see what would happen, and all of a sudden Bo became a licking machine .

I get you on the ear licking thing.
Last spring I had a date and we went to this big dog celebration in a town about an hour away. I figured that since it was my dogs going, it was only fair that it would be my car driving the dogs, and of course my date did not argue. At that time Wachter was growing so fast that he no longer fit into his seatbelt, so I had him in the back seat hooked to a leash that lead through the seats and tied to an anchor in the trunk. Wachter managed to chew through the leash and surged forward and began to attack my date, giving him all the kisses I had no intention of giving. By the time everything was said and done... the date had recieved the wet willies (ear) in his mouth, all over his glasses and just generally every inch of exposed skin before we could contain him again. Luckily the guy had a good attitude about it, especially after I stopped in Wichita and got Wachter a seatbelt harness and muzzle.
As for my relationship with this guy.... well he moved out of the state less than a month later. So much for the love me - love my dog!

LOL Evan... I have a deal that anyone I date has to pass the Wachter test before they even meet my kids. By the end of the date I was thinking it was a good deal that I had that rule
